An '05 ST1300 with PIAA's and a Corbin solo seat with Maryland plates. Parked on 9th ST, just down from 'H'. Anyone here?

If so, is this bike a replacement for the black 1100 that used to park in the same spot?

That would be me. Currently holding onto both of my ST's for now, but VERY happy with the recent upgrade (one month and one day old to me today)!

Good to "meet" you, Mark. We'll have to get DC area ST'ers together and go for a ride sometime. Yours was one of the few bikes (other than mine) I saw riding in yesterday's rain.

Denfinitally a D.C. Metro lunch thing somewhere... maybe a good cold ride. And I was riding yesterday... and today. Watch for those wet leaves  .

Good to "meet" you guys too! I was wondering where all you folks from the other side of the river worked :) A DC mini-SToc sounds like a great idea.

Hey, cool... Another Mark with an ST. Two no less. :)

I was going to propose a DC get-together on December 1 and then looked at my calendar and realized I'm going to be out of town that day. But this trip's been postponed twice already... What's one more?

Ok, Dec. 1st? Or another date? where? Better pick a place first, might be easier. There are a few good places, but I don't know any of 'em :).

WakeforST you can come too, from NC ? :D  .

Get a date and place set, and I'll invite a couple more STer's who don't frequent this list.

I rode yesterday, but not today. I had a meeting with some big shots (they pay the bills), and didn't want to be too wrinkled and wet when I got to work. But I'll most likely be riding tomorrow.

Well, my trip got postponed but my dad's having open heart surgery in a few hours. Depending on when they boot him out of the hospital (could be Thursday or Friday), I might be able to make this thing.

As for where to have it, how would somewhere in the neighborhood of Fairfax or Vienna work for everyone? I was thinking along the lines of something that's close to the major arteries so it's easy to get home after the festivities are over.

BTW, I spotted an '04 on I-66 Thanksgiving day. The rider was wearing a yellow RF-1000 and a grey 'Stich and had 34xxxx on the license plate. Anyone we know?

Mark, very sorry to hear about your dad... I wish him well and let us know if you need anything.

Provided work doesn't get in the way, I'd be up for a NoVa location.

Sorry to hear about your dad Mark, hope things work out okay.

Thanks for the good thoughts, guys. I just wrapped up a marathon day that began at 2:00 this morning and dragged on until about an hour ago. Dad's surgery was textbook and he came through it with flying colors. He's now the proud owner of a bovine replacement valve, and his new slogan is "Beef: It's what's for transplant." :)

Looks like I might get a well-deserved break from medical stuff later this week, so I'd tentatively be up for a quick dinner after work on Thursday. In Dad's honor, I propose we all go out for STEAK!

Glad to hear everything's going well for your dad.

Steak's good for me. Where did you have in mind? And what time?

Thanks,

Bob

Hey Mark, where do you work? I saw your bike parked almost in front of my building today. (Unless there's another '05 with a Corbin solo and PIAA's in the neighborhood.) I see you added a Givi, too.

I'm a contractor for the Mint (799 and 801 9th Street). I came in a bit late today and somebody had scammed my normal spot right in front of my building. Luckily they still don't have meters on a lot of the recently finished construction. Which building are you in? I know that some of my co-workers have seen your bike as I got the "I didn't know Ferrari made a motorcycle" question about 3 weeks ago :)

Hey gang,
If you guys plan for something next season I may be in for the trip south to meet you all..

We are currently having our fair share of tempreatures int he teens and a cycle of snow every 5 - 7 days which sure is not helping my itch to ride.

Mark:

I work in 801 I St, the building labeled Department of Veteran's Affairs, although I work for Homeland Security as a contractor.

I was parking my bike along the street where you parked today, but now that the weather's turned ****ty I'm parking in the garage under my building. Talked my company into reimbursing me.

You probably don't know there was a fire in the building next to mine this morning. The one you were parked closest to. Doesn't look like anyone got ticketed for being too close to a hydrant, though.

You should consider coming down for FriendSTOC in May:

Nice that they re-imburse you. The Mint used to let us 2 wheelers into the garages as long as we didn't take up car spots. Unfortunately they changed their mind and now only government employees can park there. The Dirty Rotten Contractors (DRC's) have to fend for themselves. Can't justify the $13 it would cost to put it in garage every day down here.

PS. I checked on the bike when they rolled up on the fire. I'll need to remember not to sleep in that extra 30 mins tommorrow so I can get my normal spot!!
