Saw this post over on the COG site and wanted you all to know it too... Here is the post...

This is the same as a 2610, but has a hard drive loaded with the entire of the US. I'm not a fan of having a hard drive on a bike, but there are those who'se opinion differs.

Essentially the same functionality as a 2610 with a 2 Gig CF. But the price is right.

Shipped free (or for $4 they'll get it to you overnight). Apparently NOT a refurb, but even if is was, this is a kick-a** price.

I have tried a Garmin 2620 on my 05 ST1300 and almost killed it in the course of an 800 mile trip. It does not like the shock from road bumps if you mount it to the handlebars or dash - it will cause the hard drive to permanently fail.
From my experience, if it is kept in a tank bag and insulated from the bumps and vibration, it should be OK.

The 2610 is down around $500 now. (eBay, refurb w/ 1 yr warranty)

With the new model out I think this price will drop some more - & I wouldn't get to use it much until spring anyway, so I'll wait & try to score a deal early in the new year
