Okay, I've got 5 guest badges secured for December 1rst. The current guest list includes...

Clmixon
Sherob
TxRebel
Medicine Bear
M Bear's wife

If anybody else wants to attend please let me know as soon as possible and I'll see if I can get additional badges.

I've secured at the very least a walk through of Mission Control and Old (apollo) Mission Control.

Meet at the Chili's parking lot at I-45 and NASA rd. 1 at 11 o'clock sharp. The guy running us through mission control will have meetings later and we need to meet him no later than 11:30.

Look forward to seeing you guys!

So lunch is after the tour?

Doobage
11-30-2005, 05:39 PM
Lunch will most likely be mid-tour. Since Chris will be coming in from far away, I can imagine he'll be the most hungry. And since the guy getting us into Mission Control has a meeting, we'll need to do that first and then eat. And then we can go see the "big" vaccum chamber, the Mockup and Trainer facility, possibly the X-38 (if it hasn't been boxed up yet), and/or the T-38 at Ellington field, and/or the Neutral Buoncy Lab and Plasma Rocket.

Somewhere along the way we'll need to do a photo op, or two.

Since we'll be onsite, I'm gonna suggest we just eat at the cafeteria's at NASA.

Have fun. Am still stuck out of town for another 3 days.

And still no news on my ST on its 4th week at the dealer for leaks....

I packed my bag last night, pre flight. Zero hour, six am and I'm gonna be high as a kite by then....

OK, I will be enroute by 0630 to have a little traffic cushion and I will have my cell plugged into the intercom. I will PM Doobage with my number and Rob alredy has it. I also have Rob's number stored if needed.

Lunch in the Cafeteria is cool with me.

You're welcome. I was happy to see so many ST's in one spot. Very cool. It was really strange hearing my bike in stereo sound.

Medicine Bear was the only one with a digi, so we'll have to see what pics came out. And poor ol' Clmixon will probably be pulling into his house about 9 p.m. And he actually used film, so we might not see those for awhile.

But rest assured...it was cool. Sitting at lunch and listening to the stories was a blast. Very interesting people that ride ST's.

Thanks for coming down and meeting.

Happy anniversary all.

Thanks again Doobage for setting this up... ;)

Well, perhaps Sherob overstated it a little bit...but riding in that F16 was cool.

This was actually the first time I gave a tour where I couldn't "speak" while driving around. I attempted hand jestures for the buildings we passed (Moon rocks, Centrifuge, Weightless Environment Training Facility (WETF))...using the following hand jestures...(fist, circular waving finger, and a dog paddle), which probably translated to Doobage is angry at the LEO who can't keep up unless he paddles.

If only I had an Audiovox, speakers in my helmet, and some cheezewhiz.

Well, It's 2100 and I am home safe. The F-16 ride was so so but thats the way it goes. :) Thanks again to everyone, especially Doobage for the great tour. I never imagined I would get to sit in the "real Misson Control" in the same Flight Directors position as Chris Kraft and Gene Krantz! (no joke)

Weather in Houston was clear Blue and 75 but Westbound today was cold and wet and Eastbound tonight was ok, cool but dry. I will get the film in tomorrow so if any of it came out, I should have it soon.

Sorry you couldn't stay for the suborbital flight - it was really keen!

Seriously, the more STOC people I meet, the more I understand why the forum works so well. Sorry we had to leave early. Arlene and I really enjoyed the day. Many thanks, again, Doobage!

a couple are ok,

Some enhancement a cropping needed. Digital has spoiled me. I guess I need to carry the 35mm more often and make sure I can find a shorter lens before I leave.
