Hi all,
I've been meaning to write to each list that has ST1100 riders as the main target audience.
As you may or not know, I am the producer of the Brackets that Ron Major designed. I had an opportunity to continue his fine work after his untimely demise and have done so for several years. I also developed a very similar Bracket for the ST1300 which has been equally successful.
I write today for advice from fellow ST1100 owners regarding the particular Bracket that fits the ST1100 as there has been a significant decline in requests for this design for the ST1100.
As an example, I had four sets at the beginning of this year and still have one set remaining. This slow movement makes it very difficult to finance and continue to maintain a supply on hand. In this same period of time, I had about twenty or more requests for information (availability, shipping to offshore locations, costs, etc.) and have shipped only three. This is not cost effective for me and wouldn't be for anybody.
The machinist that I use needs to have an order for at least 20 sets to be cost effective and I hesitate to put my funds into such a quantity not being sure how long I will need to stock them before I recoup my funds.
I'm strongly considering that when this last set is sold, I will not produce anymore for the ST1100 using my own resources. I may be encouraged to consider continuing by using the Group Buy method, if there is enough interest to provide the needed quantities and after I've gathered the funds I would have the Group Buy quantity produced.
I need to know if there will be continued interest in this product or at least enough to warrant the Group Buy effort, so please respond to the list for all to see.
A similar or identical post will be made to the other ST1100 forums that I subscribe to but if anybody wants to post elsewhere, please do.
Thank you all.
