I had my Pilot Roads mounted there... service was quick and thorough. They noticed my rear pads were fried and I had them done as well. They checked for any recalls while I was there as well and let me know there wasn't any... ;)
The service guys were a hoot to talk to... they remembered me from our visit a few months back (Fred, Charlie, and myself). They even washed my baby while I was paying the cashier... she's getting spoiled now... washed 4 times this year
I was a Wild West guy since Iv'e had my bikes serviced and purchased there... but some of the members here haven't had the same experience I've had there... so rather give my $$$ to them for treating my fellow ST brothers rather crummy, I will now be going to HoH.
After I can ride again(surgery), I will be getting the 3 year unlimited miles scheduled service package they offer for the ST. It runs about $1300 and also gives you Priority Service when you go in. For high mileage guys, I think this is a great deal.

Man it sure would be nice to find a Honda shop in NorCal that treated customers like they're supposed to AND are competent in working on bikes
What a concept???

The thing that really got me was a survey card was handed to me by the cashier. They WANT to know how they are doing

I had one of the local Honda shops hand me a card once, I let'em have it with both barrels....The next (and last) time I went in. . . it was worse!!!!
I actually had a tech argue with me over missing hardware?? screws and push rivets. He said something like "well we didn't have those parts off, so you must have done it and forgot" Have you ever seen a jet launch from the Catapult of an aircraft carrier?? That was me at that point!!!

Went by WW this evening, to check the bike before they deliver it back from the second multi-week warranty "fix-a-leak" visit.
The new higher wattage bulbs I had asked them to install at the first visit (but they didn't) were indeed installed this time.... but the left one was dead! Hopeless.
Hope I'll have better luck with your new friends at HoH.

Wondering.
Did you bring your own Pilot Roads for Honda of Houston to install?
They are $330 + Tax a set from HoH. A bit steep!

No, I took them in with my own stems. It was $100 to install both... f $40/b $60.
Rolling Thunder had his Avons installed there too :)

Uh, did I miss something? Is this offered by Honda, or just at that particular dealership? What does it include? Fluids? Brake pads? Coolant? Plugs? Air filters?
Inquiring minds want to know ... unless this is common knowledge, which would just mean that I'm terribly out of the loop ....... :o:

since I bought that, theyre doin the 16K service while its there. LOL
Ill let ya'll know how it turns out. So far so good!
Its an hour for me to get there, but if the service is half what Ive heard, itll be worth the time and money.

Got a call this morning that my coolant leak is the dreaded water pump. They were actually kind of implying that they could put it back together while we waited on the part that wont be in til Wed or Thursday this week. Its nice to be well informed and have choices. I told them to just keep it and let me know when its ready to go.

Hey LJ... how'd it go picking up your bike? Just curious if you had any problems or they treated you right... :)
They treated me OK, but I gotta say Im not 100 % happy.
Picked up the bike, all clean (for the most part) and headed down the street to get a bite to eat. Got about a half mile and had to pull off cuz the temp gage went to 6 lights and last one was flashing. I called back to HOH, and they said this is normal at first, so I started it back up and lo and behold, it held at 3. As soon as I took off, it went to 6 agfain, so i took it back. Its one of those intermittent issues that I hope they find a real resolution to. One of the service writers tried to throw me a line of bull over the phone at first, and I called him on it. Hope they dont make a habit of that stuff, they wont like me when Im angry. (insert HULK pipc here)LOL
Theyre supposed to call me this morning, oh wait ,its now afternoon, theyre late....LOL

You have me worried now. I have an appointment with them tomorrow!
Why do you say your problem is intermittent? Seems to be quite repeatable. If you overheated 1/2 mile down the road, I wonder how far they road tested your ride?
The service writer kids were quick on the bull line with me too, trying to convince me that my 03 had a problem with the antidive system...!
Sounds like I will have to get a trailer and pull the bike up to this dealership that received good reviews up in JR and MedicineBear contry (if I can find the thread about it!).

Was at HoH yesterday and mentioned LJ's bike. Their diagnostic:
-- Loose connector!
Am wondering if they came up with this conclusion themselves or if LJ passed on your diagnostic!
Had the feeling to have more of their attention after they realized the link to the ST crowd.
Thanks for the heads up!
I should get a call from them tomorrow then. I did call friday night and Sat about noon. Finally went off on the service writer when he started handing me a line of bull. After I hung up, I got a call from (I assume) the svc manager, or at least someone in charge that day. They apologized and gave me the full scoop.
Turns out the guy who did the original work on my ST (their resident ST and GL expert) went home sick after finishing mine, and has called in sick both fri and Sat. They were really just taking mine apart for him to diagnose as they trusted him more. I told the manager that was fine, but to tell his guys to quit tellin me what they think I want to hear and tell me the TRUTH, and we'll get along fine. I told him I hoped I wouldnt be dissapointed I bought the service contract, they wouldnt like me when Im dsissappointed...LOL
Well if they found a loose connector, I should be all set tommorow when they open.
By the way, I do believe they read, or are at least aware of this forum.
Thanks again.

LJ,
My understanding is that it is not quite as advanced as you think.
They are only speculating it is a loose contact. As you said, your ST tech was still out sick. The light Saturday crew that was in place wouldn't know where to start looking to find a loose connection.
Your tech could be the same as mine! They want the same tech who worked on my bike last time to take care of it this time too, but he was not in either.
Austin Henderson is most likely the service writer you talked to. He seems to be the least ADD affected service writer on duty and I also ended up dealing with him.
Josh is the service mgr. Have not met him. Only once got an eMail reply from him trying to make excuses for a missing pop rivet on my ST after service....
In my case, I will not be able to pick up the bike for another three weeks. Which leaves time for the ST qualified tech to come back (Austin liked that of course!).
Hopefully he will be back on Tuesday to look at yours.

I have a feeling I will either get the best service imaginable from here on out, or the crappiest. LOL!!! If they just get down to basics and stop with the "salesman" talk, theyd be the best dealership Ive ever worked with! I hope they took my statements to that issue to heart.

I will still pick HoH over WW. You should have seen my bike after two months at WW. Not only the damages (saddle bag grab rail lock, windshield scratches). faulty repairs, but also the cleanliness. As you probably know all too well, there is a lot of construction going on around their shop, with the reshaping of I-10. When I checked the bike at their shop before they delivered it, it was late and dark and because it is a grey 03, did not notice it was covered and infiltrated with a layer of thin sticky dust (the kind you see flying around when grinding slab). Disgusting.
HoH standards seem to be higher (but I still removed the bags from the bike this time!). Cleaner shop, better bays, more room. And they clean the bike before delivery.
Beside, WW saw nothing wrong with the mushiness of the rear brake and found no need to work on them. Their comments after a quick test ride:
1) They all do that (All 1300).
2) This is why people do not like them (Honda linked brakes)
3) This is why people prefer BMWs (WW are a Beemer house)
What can I say. (Still glad they managed to fix the puzzling oil leak though).
At least HoH is willing to have a look at the rear brake.

They were puzzled when I bought my ST there... kept trying to push me towards a Beemer instead, NOT! It was the only 05 ABS they got... supposedly. She looked so nice on the floor... had to have her :p:
HoH is alot bigger and IS cleaner  At least now the feeder is done in front of WW :)

Well, they called me again last night. Seems they had been in touch with Honda Tech support during the day. They were worried about a high idle (about 4K according to them) until it warmed up. This seemed to happen in conjunction with the overheat indication. They were waiting on an answer back from them, but when I talked to them just before close last night, they were still waiting on that call. The problem on the bike however has "gone away" Makes me think there was just a buttload of air in the system that they didnt work out before closing up the radiator, and its finally worked out. If they call early enough today (or I may call them) Im gonna suggest they do an air bleed procedure per the manual (with rad cap off) even if the problem is gone. I also told them they needed to road test it, not just run it in the shop, as that seems to be where the prob started showing itself. If its the ECM (?) sensor, I sure hope they have one in stock. (If not, I know I saw a pretty red :biker: ST on the showroom floor that has one on it!!!)
Updates to come.

Latest update
Seems I have a bad SE valve / wax unit assy. Its on order, and should be here Tuesday. Needless to say, Im a bit worried  about the status of my bike as it relates to my trip that I plan onleaving on Fri Mar 3rd.
I called and talked with a few high ranking individuals today at the dealer and feel much better. The Ops Mngr told me he would personally hunt down my part out of the Tues morning shipment so they could get a jump on the bike. They also stated if it doesnt completely fix the problem, and parts are needed, they can always fed ex parts in, or last resort, "borrow" them from the ST sittin on the floor. That was running through my mind, but Im glad he brought it up first. Makes me feel like they are truly concerned that I get my bike back in time and ready for my trip.
Even with all the setbacks Ive had so far, (most of them small, they just kinda piled up) I'm feelin better about this dealership again.
Ill let ya know the final outcome, but I think it will be OK.

Just a note for owners of "vintage" ST1100s - back in January when I was looking at the ST1100 I ended up buying, I called HoH about doing a checkup. They told me they don't work on bikes over 10 years old, and gave me the name of some independent shop. I ended up having Lunsford do the job.
