If I am in the wrong area I apologize.

Just want to say hi to everyone. I have read many of the threads here but this is my first post. I have been riding a Honda Sabre for a few years and I am a member of The Sabre Group. I never had a chance to ride an ST of any kind but have wanted to for a little over a year now. No one in my area that I know of had one. I had my chance to take a ride last week and was hooked. I took my wife a few days later to test ride and she got hooked too. Before I had it shifted out good she had here thumbs up. Well now I am a proud owner of a Pearl Blue 2004 ST1300. I ride my bike to work most days look forward to putting lots of miles it.

Welcome to our world, Joseph. You will simply love your new machine, more and more so as you ride it. Make sure you set up a farkle account and tell your wife you need contributions (lots of them) into the account.

Hi Joseph,

Thanks for posting out and congrats on finding a pick suitable for the SO. :)

You'll have to keep me and Rocket Cowboy posted on the condition of I-10. We're planning a CCC in the spring if all goes well.

Congrats and welcome aboard. I'd commute on my ST, too, if my commute weren't simply up the stairs to my office.

Joey, if repeat purchases is an indicator of perceived value/quality... I'm riding my FOURTH ST now. Three were ST1100, this one is an 03ST1300A... It's a very noticably different ride, but still the same rock solid Honda feel you know from the Sabre... I've owned two of the Vintage Sabre's too...

Joey, I'm thinking you and your wife will like the ST. My wife and I always ride 2-up. We now have a little over 33k miles on our 2004.

BTW, I've heard blue is the fastest.

I won't make any color comments (Blue is fast, Blue is good) But I will welcome you to the collective and advise you to ignore the guys who live N of I-10 (can't ride in the winter, So sad, get bitter fast).

Is I-10 the CLMixon Line?

I live in Portland Or, that's also North of I-10.

There are several of us on this site that are, or were Sabre owners.

Several Riders have petitioned successfully to be considered "southern" even though they where north of the I-10 line. If you wish to submit Portland to the committee please fill out all the forms in triplicate and we will handle your request in the order in a timely manner.

At this time of year, many of the cold, frozen , in the dark bast$%# attempt to "a-hm, ruin our season of temperate riding" by attempting to send a Mr. Heikki Lunta to our domain. A Mr. Putt has requested that the line dividing North from South be moved to south of Highway 90 but this puts many southerners into the Gulf of Mexico.

Since Portland has a year round riding season, it is entirely possible for your fine area of the country to be designated Southern. We have successfully moved the dividing line in the Republic of Texas to I-30 but at this time Mr. killtimers request for us to move the line to his Canadian residence has been delayed because of the several feet of Ice and Snow obscuring the landmarks.

Welcome Joey !! Nice choice on the very speedy Blue.

Apparently, I-10 marks the "Mason/Clmixon" line but don't worry about Chris, he clearly is bitter that no other ST riders in LA want to ride with him. His only friend seems to be a guy on Concourse. :D

Enjoy the miles.

Congratulations on your purchase Joey and welcome aboard. Be very careful around that Mixon guy in Lafayette he keeps coming across the border into Texas looking for someone to buy his lunch and his young daughter has been taught to be hurtful to his long suffering sidekick Grampa Al Landery. LOL! You've fallen in with a good bunch here.

Freaking hilarious! Mostly because it's true!

Time for me to go ride...I think it's 68 degrees outside.

I too had a '85 V65 Sabre when I bought an '04 ST. Way different bikes, the ST clearly superior at everything except perhaps cruising in a straight line.

Not so, BUnkie and all of Avoyelles Parish grow cotton so QED they must be in the South. Shreveport on the other hand......

Hi Joey, and welcome! I'm pretty new around here myself! As a matter of fact I am SO new, that I haven't even got my BIKE yet! I take delivery from my cousin in a month, but like yourself, I think I'm really gonna get hooked! I'm making the jump from an 1100 Shadow ACE, and by your impressions, it looks like I'm gonna have fun too! :p:

I'm another ST newbie - so new that the '05 ST1300 A is still sitting in the crate at the dealership. I won't have them set it up to at least the middle of March and maybe if we get a good spring, I can ride it home by the middle of April. I've got a great 45 kilometre (28 mile?) run to and from work between mountains and ocean through some small fishing communities. I'm looking forward to doing it on the St - and looking forward to meeting other ST riders.
