I'm off to Toronto on the weekend to shop for a new full face helmet, and was wondering if I should even look at the Arai XD . Not sure if the top peak would reduce wind noise, or would it be a danger at highway speeds. Any input form those that have tried one would be helpful.

thanks, Alfred

Super visor

Sounds like it might fit the ticket, and give me more options with other full face helmets. Thanks for your reply

Fulmer Modus, flip up. You won't regret it. I ride around town and when I hit a stop light I can flip it up and breath.

I do like my Fulmer because the fit is spot on for me, but the Caberg thread has got me thinking about one of those for the adjustable sunscreen. If you get the Fulmer, you'll need ear plugs, I get a high pitched whistle at anything above 60.

I'm on my second Arai Corsair and can attest to the quality, having given the first one the ultimate road test. It's comfortable and the ventilation works well. I find it a little noisier than my first one, I think that is a consequence of the improved venting.

Here's a good place to do some research. One thing I found out when I was looking, there's no such thing as a "quiet" helmet. The physics are all wrong. Anyway, nothing beats going and trying on the helmet. They all fit different to our variety of head shapes so no one can really recommend a helmet for your specific needs.

Good luck.

One comment on the Super-Visor. The Arai has the advantage that the visor stays in place when you raise the face shield. The Super-Visor moves with the 'shield. Less than ideal, but a whole lot cheaper.

Had a good time at the Toronto Bike Show today. Went for the Arai helmet in the end Since it was discounted by $300 Cn, then just for fun I tried on a Joe Rocket summer mesh jacket. Had to get it too cause..... you know, the colour matched the new helmet. Actually I got it to be safer on the sweltering days when I feel like just wearing a Tshirt. Thanks again for all the input and advice.

I own a Shoei RF900 and just purchased a new RF1000. Great helmet. Quite, comfortable, good reviews. Check the “parts411.com”. Paid $280.00 (US) for solid white. You’ll have to call them. Good luck
