I think we should schedule a January or February or March ST-Owners Cruise next year. It would be great to meet some of you guys from other parts of the country/Canada. Off season would be best for most of us. I realize some of you southern guys are still riding, but us northerners are not riding during these months. And we could use a little bit of warm weather, thus the cruise! Let me know what you think. I love cruises. I'm going on my 3'rd Carnival cruise on January 23'rd. Good Times.

I'm not into the cruise thing....but I do own a tour operation business dedicated to SCUBA travel. If people want to do something like this, I'd be glad to help make arrangements. I could do a much better job pricing the trip if arranging a land based plan. January/February are "high season" and the prices for leasure travel are always at the premium during that time of year. "high season" now lasts well into March because of the staggered college spring breaks. Some places lower prices March 15th. Low season starts in May/June. (this price schedule refers to most resorts in the Caribbean)
If land based travel could be considered, some of the decisions that need to be made:

1 dates
2 destination
3 price ranges (will limit destinations or number of people that can attend)
4 numbers of people (more is better pricewise)
5 (and the real pain) air arrangments must be made very early during the high season.....way early or you lose out or the cost is so high that it discourages the trip.

My only problem is understanding this "off season" thing...
When does this mysterious 'off season' occur?
The only time I (try to) never ride the bike is when I'm asleep...

While Mark is installing your new donuts, the rest of you could be picking the Charmin off his saguaros...

So, instead of a cruise you guys should (shudder) trailer your STs south until you like the riding weather and then ride to our southern-homes for tire changing and TP picking...
And as long as there is beer around, I'll be there...

Back to the cruise thing ... sounds interesting, but my preference is to sit on a beach in Mexico when time allows ... fish tacos and a Corona, por favor !

... si ! ... :D

That said Brian I was oout yesterday and rode the bike to work today. You and Todd should check out the Polar Bear club. they ride every sunday in the NY,NJ, Pa area. The first one I wnt on a guy showed up from NH. Check out the site www.Polar Bear Grand Tour.com:03biker:

I've looked at the Polar Bear Grand Tour thing before, but the problem with doing it on a regular basis is that for us Connecticuticians(???) it would be the same ride every week. Rules say you must take the shortest route and from here it would probably be Rt95 and NJTurnpike every week. I don't like doing Rt95 once nevermind every week for pleasure. I do like the idea though. All that said, I would love to take a ride south sometime to find warmer weather. Problem is that it's about 1000 miles to anything that even resembles warm weather. I will be doing something in February though....just not sure what yet. Anyone have any ideas for me?

As long as you don't actually say t.... tr........ traaa.. you, that one, out loud again I could go for that. I've be warning my wife to get her fill of good old New England, I'm ready to be where I can ride 12 months a year (without sweating my *** off for 3-4 of them) to good trout streams. As long as I can ride and flyfish, I'm a pretty happy cat. :)

Don Feyma moved to NV from MN, he's been rubbing in the riding for over a year. He is East of Tahoe (fishing, mountains, and snow for the wife) somewhere.
I'll take the desert; a Motoport Kevlar Mesh jacket and a wet vest.

P.S.
Besides Chris gets seasick looking at pictures of boats and going on a cruise with someone who is seasick is no fun. All they want to do is die or kill you for not being seasick... :-)

Did you know that including this image that www.desertusa.com wants to set cookies by merely visiting this thread? Cool cactus though, and nice image!

Off Season, Oh yea that the 5 days a year it rains, but I already have plans, that's when the bottom of my ST gets washed.:)

BTW, I need to start saving for a Winter home, I really am getting tired of the chilly Phoenix Winters. Any Idea?
