Anyone heard about this?

I have seen a couple of previews on HDNet. Looks like it ought to be real good. True story based on the life of Burt Munro. I think it hits theaters sometime in February.

The Editor of Cycle World, David Edwards, said that even his wife liked it and wanted to see it again. She went because of Anthony Hopkins but ended up really liking the movie a lot.

The one I'm thinking of isn't really a movie but a series and it's called "Long Way Round" and stars Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman. It's a three disc set and it's available up here in Canada at HMV for $24.99CAN. The website for the series is: www.longwayround.com

I'm looking forward to seeing "The Worlds Fastest Indian" Even my girlfriend and my riding buddies wife want to go.

Since we're on the subject of bike movies, if anyone is into roadracing pickup "Faster". It's narrated by Ewan Mcgregor and is about the last year of Motogp when they were running the 500 two strokes and the 990 four strokes. It's a great watch.

The movie has received very positive reviews by motorcycle buffs and casual movie-goers, as well. However, if you don't live in a 'major' market you can count on NOT seeing it. It isn't coming to Indianapolis, which disappoints me. You can go to the movie website to see a list of markets in which it will be showing.

I guess the upside to it not being marketed in many markets for the big screen is a shorter time to DVD distribution.:D

Saw this movie last night with a bunch of my local riding buddies.

We saw it in Springfield, Mass., four miles from the Indian Motocycle (no "r" in Motocycle) factory, now apartments. Motorcycle theme aside, it was a fantastic film -- great story and wonderful acting. Nice to enjoy a movie that doesn't rely on special effects to wow its audience.

Highly recommended for motorcyclists and others (kids, too.)

Seeing tomorrow at noon at a private screening for motorcycle riders.:D
(well okay I suspect you could buy a ticket even if you don't ride)

It ought to be fun to see it with an entire theater full of people who appreciate motorcycles...

Saw it last night and loved it! Sir Anthony Hopkins pulls off the role beautifully! No villains in this film, the worst culprits in this film were Burt Munro's "bad luck & timing"! An absolutely delightful film suitable for EVERYONE ~ all ages, motorcycle fans or not! 6 Thumbs up!!:bannana

Don't hesitate to take non-motorcyclist to this movie. My wife doesn't give a rip about motorcycles, but loved the movie. I thought it was absolutely fantastic.

Everbody we know who saw the movie really enjoyed it. A must see for any bike rider.
There is a TV documentry (sort of behind the scenes) about the movie with more info about Bert Munro. It screened a few weeks ago on NZ TV. I regret not recording it.
The Britten motorcycle works built the replica Indian bike for the movie.

Perhaps the lack of the letter "R" is the reason the company is now apartments!:)

I saw it tonight and thought it was a great movie. Would probably see it again.

Doesn't seem to be showing in the big theatre chains though. Had to go all the way downtown. Yuck.

It is a great movie, as in; great to watch when its raining and you can't go riding... oh wait... over 120 days with no rain here ...
hmmm... oh yeah... that's it: I'll be buying the dvd as soon as it hits the stores and watching it when the humidity is to high...

Took my wife and daughter to see it today and both of them cried. My wife would point out "that's how you know it's a good movie."

My wife (who doesn't ride) and I enjoyed the movie last week, but I highly recommend the Burt Munro website. He did so much more than what was shown in the movie. Here's a quote from the website:
"He made his own barrels, flywheels, pistons, cams and followers and lubrication system. In their final form he in effect hand-carved his con-rods from a Caterpillar tractor axle, and hardened and tempered them to 143 tons tensile strength. He built a seventeen plate, thousand pound pressure clutch and used a triple chain drive. He experimented with streamlining and, in its final form, the bike was completely enclosed in a streamlined shell. The leaf-sprung fork was dispensed with and what appears to be a girder fork from a 1925 - 1928 Prince substituted." And this was all to his 1920 Indian.

Probably wont be able to see the movie up here - our First Nations Indiginous Peoples would be upset with anything having "Indian" in the title - anything to get unwarranted attention that has nothing to do with nothing remotely related.

This is a Great Movie! Just saw it this weekend. Usually, during a movie I am looking at my watch wondering when it will end. Didn't look once during this movie. Anthony Hopkins does a great job! Make sure you see this! I'm not just saying this because it's about a motorcycle or speed. This movie has a very well written script & the acting is wonderful!

I was on a movie review site which gave the gender and age of the people giving the review. All of the women gave it 10 out of 10 and lowest 8 out of 10 from a middle age guy. The average was 9.2 out of 10. This was not a motorcycle site.

I WANT TO SEE THIS MOVIE!!!!!

Hello movie distributors! Please bring it to Calgary!!!

It doesn't matter how many zillions of dollars you spend on special effects ... if you haven't got a good story, you haven't got a good movie ... and THIS is a great story!:yes:

I loved the part where he gets stopped in Nevada and the trooper ask if he knows how fast he was going. Hopkins (as Bert) says oh, about 160
