View Full Version : Airman Sparrow
CA Sport Touring is selling them for about $15.98. A question though. Does anyone thing that it will survive for long in the left fairing locked compartment given the amount of heat?

I have had my Airman Sparrow in the pocket for the last 55,000kms or so. It still works great.

Mine's there, works fine. Filled Kempo's tire last September, my Beemer buddy's tire last November, topped off the spare in my wife's Highlander a couple weeks ago.

A+ question....I have the same dilemma. I have heard thet it will survive w/ out melting. I put on a small cover and placed it on the left compartment. Love the unit..Its made in Denmark.
....and wow!!! Was impressed on how fast I got it !!!!!
Only took 6 weeks on back order from CST with no updates !!!!
Keep mine in the sidebag, why take a chance on the heat when both bags are realtively empty?

Its because you are reporting on Mafia crime and they run the mail, ice and hockey business in AZ. Although its hard to keep the ice from melting down there eh?

Just aired the tires up, and the little blue Sparrow works like a champ. Run it off my dual rear Powerlets and a powerlet to cigarette adapter. Perfect! HIghly recommended

Regarding this unit.
I have googled it and I can only find USA outlets :(
Anyone know of a UK supplier?

I don't know of one Mick but mine says "Made in Denmark" so I'd think there would be an EU distributor.

Unless I'm way off, ;) it appears that they're of Scandinavian manufacture. You might be able to find some contact info Here (http://www.airman.dk/) . The link to "where to buy" goes nowhere, but there is a phone #. HTH

Thanks guys.
I have searched the web and everything at the moment points me back to the US. The Danish sites I have been on mean nothing to me as is all gobbeldygook as I cant speak Danish :D
Due to the amount of people over there in the US that speak highly of this unit, I may look at shipping one back here from the US.
I have seen others listed in the UK such as Draper and Sealey makes, but they all look to big to be carried on the bike.
Not to worry, I will sort something out but thanks for your assistance.

Mick, I sent a note to Adverturers Workshop. The reply:
"No problems shipping to the over the pond crowd. I would suggest a group of pumps together to save in the shipping if possible as shipping one unit via US Postal Service Global Priority will be about $12 US per unit.
Hope this helps!!
Regards,
Andrew"

Mick,
I'll buy one if you want to split the shipping costs from US to UK.
I was under the impression the three CO2 cartridges I carry would be plenty to refill a plugged tyre but it seems not  This looks like a better bet.

Thanks for the help. I have searched the web and I still cant find any other suppliers other than USA, so it looks like doing just that and getting one shipped.
The $12 shipping is quite cheap really! I have priced some air pumps that are available in the UK and they work out at a similar price to the Sparrow plus postage = cost of a UK version without postage!
So thanks for your help, I just have one more avenue to check before placing the order.

No problems SC.
I have one more avenue to check out! My son works at Halfords and he tells me they have one for about £20.00. He is going to bring it home for me to have a look at before going ahead with anything.
I will keep you updated and let you know the outcome because there may be others such as Burger, Nis, Apolllo and Rob etc. Once I have checked this out, I will drop a post in the UK section of the forum and see where it takes us.
