View Full Version : Laptop/PDA GPS receiver revisited

In an earlier thread, I made mention of a WAAS enabled GPS receiver that
you could plug into your laptop/pda and use S&T/Rand McNally software to
plan/route your trips... Well, the receiver came in. I am using Streets and
Trips with my laptop and it took a couple of minutes to configure the
GPS to run with this combination.. It works!! Took a drive around town to
see if there were any problems, and from what I can tell, all works well.
There are several plug in options for the GPS receiver, you can either
use a serial port, USB, or a BlueTooth port. The receiver is small,
draws power from the computer (USB and serial) but requires a seperate power cord when being run in conjunction with a PDA (power
