I've tried searching for an answer on here and haven't been able to find this specific question.
I have raw MP4 video footage taken with the GoPro camera mounted on my bike. What software do you recommend for editing this footage? At present, all I want to be able to do is to cut it down from the bulk video to show some of the highlights - for example, although the 1 hour plus ride down Lolo was a lot of fun and I enjoyed it, most others wouldn't be interested in watching that long and I'd like to edit it down to a manageable length. I'd also like to convert it into a format that is viewable on an average DVD player.
I'd prefer to start off with a free download, but I'm nervous about just downloading a program off the internet and I'd like to go with someone's recommendation about an easy to use, yet effective program.
If all the freeware is not worth installing, I'm open to suggestions about the most reasonable choice of commercial programs for a newbie to the movie world.
Thanks in advance for your suggestions.
