Just wondering if anybody plans on just riding around between these two events this year? I guess if enough people are interested it could be called BetweenSToc.

TweenSTOC... I'm not familiar with the roads between the two; but, I believe I just might be up for both... especially as I've already okayed it with Chris! :-)
Camping or moteling tween the two?

Mark,
Head south until the language changes to Texan, then turn East. Works for me. I am planning to ride west till I can hear Paul, then turn North to get to Golden. Why make it complicated.

Yeah I didn't think I needed to check with you..:-)
I believe there is at least one route that might follow an old highway that would keep us a bit N of Texas... :-)
Maybe Hwy 50?

I'll probably have camping gear, but I guess it depends on the weather too.

Good point, Sept weather... anything like last year and we might be dodging tropical depressions leftover from huricanes (note to self: don't forget to put on weatherproof liners unlike last time you were caught in a downpour :o: ).
I'll have the gear for camping too though...

I am again making sure I have a vaction scheduled for Westoc. I would like to make both meets, one after the other and then head south, so if the National Weathe service can keep large sub-tropical air masses out of the gulf I will be traveling between both and keeping Bryan well supplied with Adult malt based beverages:D. If the great circular wind comes back, I will then be begging Bryan to once again mail me the damn tee shirt (Which I am wearing as I type this, Thanks Bryan!):bow1:
On a related note. The web site has a banner for XI but the disorganizers still have all of John and Becky's SLO information in place. I am watching like a hawk.
Could be real warm at night in Arkanasas in Sept. Mabe Wishy or one of the other North AR. guys can comment on local conditions that time of year. MikeP is also a font of information on the area.
Looking forward to 2006 being better than 05, thats for sure.

Yeah but I didn't want anyone else to get the wrong Idea :o: with the two comments so close together.
50 could be cool, Leaving Golden in the Morning of the 6th and needing to be in Eureaka Springs on the 8th in good enough shape for another meet will require some serious mile burning. The fast route according to Expedia is about 850 miles in 12 hours. Hwy 50 would probably mean about 16 hours, Doable but is there anything out there. my understanding is that Kansas is miles and miles of flat and straight. Have not got there yet so I may be maligning an area but I can recall quotes from the LD guys about the best way to cross Kansas is at night so you don;t have to see it :)
I was thinking of south to Santa Fe and then west across the panhandle. Could be just as bad, dunno?
Chris :04biker:
My initial reaction is, "Hey, Mark is going, I'm going too"
Just did the distances. My second reaction is "Mark, bring me back a Nat-STOC t-shirt"
Golden, I am going to try and make.
Chris, in all seriousness, hope to share a few malted bevs with you and A.L.
Otherwise, you guys should just plan on organizing FEMAStoc

Don't limit your choice solely to New Belgium... http://beerexpedition.com/co/b_denver.shtml
Last time I was there I hit; Wynkoop, Champion, Breckenridge and one I can't remember... good beers and I parked and walked between them.
I had a sampler of all their beers (no blondes please) a very fun walk.
Mark
Sounds like fun. Hopefully we can pull it off too.

Zima? Blaahaahahahahaa
I seem to remember Mark drinking white wine spritzers at WESTOC X. (although props do go to Mark for balancing the six pack Bud Light bottle on the tank of his ST somewhere outside Victorville, CA)
Not this time Mark. You're not going to guilt me into a long distance run to Arkansas...at least I don't think you will. I'm pretty sure you won't. I'll ask my boss if I can get those additional days off in Sept. :p:

I think I know where my New Belgium; coasters, water proof tattoo, and 3 or 4 of their posters are too... Next to the digitally controlled fermentation freezer in the garage, unless I missed (my) Chris cleaning them out! :D
I *really* like their Trippel and the Abbey, and the 1554; but, especially the Trippel... hmmm good...
Mark (I think I should go to the beer frig right now!)

If she cleaned them out, get her to send them to meeeeeee!
Why is it every time Mark and I start to plan, a brewpub becomes a vital component? :D
Ya talked me into it, let's go to all of em.... Now we need a designated Decoy...

I noted that we had this discussion last year too, Chris... Hope our plans turn out better this year...
hmmm.... Since Bryan will not be doing the rest of the ride (NatSTOC) we could assign him the dreaded DD position... (and that is Designated Decoy, not Designated Drinker!).

Just last week I was already planning the route to WESToc through the 4 corners area. Back roads all the way...:D
Still waiting for the WESToc site to come up...

I added a poll to see if there is an interest in this.
Here ya go Jody,
This route will take you through Kansas by way of some of the back roads.
The route to the chalk pyramids (just south of Oakley) is a gravel road, but
it was not too bad the last time I was on it.... Might make the journey from
Denver to Eureka Springs too, but it all depends, I might want to spend a
little more time in Colorado
Putt...
