In reviewing the answers to the Farkle poll, a great many of you mention your like of an "Autocom" and other communication brands & even helmets w/ communication or music capabilities.. I have alweays stayed away from cycle communications, etc, because I cant figure it out in all honesty. I even went to Long Beach to see the J&M booth to get some answers and got more confused.

Can someone w a lot of patience help out a challenged and somewhat dyslexic dude with the world of motorcycle communications and related issues?.. and yes, farkles . I simply dont know where to begin....!

Ok...I ride 1 only always and thus there is no need for communication w/ a passenger. Interested in communicating w/ other bikes perhaps if its something you would recommend. No Cellphone needed in intercom as I am trying to get away from cellphones, pagers, etc when I ride. I carry a cellphone but its off. Dont wanna turn my ST into an office.

I Have an Ipod shuffle w/ er6's on the ST and carry it in pocket and works well.

Love music and comedy and news in the XM in the car.

I guess the bottom line is intervehicle communication if recommended, and definetely I think XM would be great as long as it's not too complicated. The XM need not be mounted if its reception is good in my pocket. It may be all I need is an XM. Now, are ER6's better than earphones inside a helmet?

No radar detector. No real need to listen to the pretty lady in the 2610.

You can have a look at what I've done if you like. I'll could also walk you through all of the bits and pieces needed to get where you want to be. Good excuse for me to head to Palm Springs. Week-ends are best, although I have January 16th off after about noon.

Yes, I'm the only one the loves the MIT-100. ;)

I like the MIT-100 because it is an OEM Baehr unit (as I found out this weekend) and it comes with everything you need for $200. The Autocom base unit is $150 and that may be all you need but I like that the MIT-100 setup comes with all the stuff you'll probably ever need unless you need extra cables for more than 3 inputs.

Just search on MIT-100. Here's one:

Most definetely...!

PS Johny Mercer and Sinatra used to hang aroung Palm Springs. Johny Mercer's Daughter, Mandy, is the tittle of a song by Barry Manilow, also a local resident.

PalmSpringST:

Sorry -- I'm a bit dense: "Most definetely..." which? Monday (tomorrow) after noon, or some weekend? Your call.

Didn't know that (Mandy). Neat song. Not too many Mercers in this neck of the woods; many in Washington state and on the East Coast, though. Always fun to hear references such as this. Thanks.

Okay- I am hooking up my Sabre for very long distance 2 up riding- from Alaska to Deals gap and back- and want all the bells and whistles- I want GPS, intercom, stereo (not satelite though- it won't work on the majority of the trip) and hell, even cell phone if possible-

what would you guys suggest?

Same thing. Autocom or MIT-100 from IMC.
