I am rebuilding an ST1100 and putting together the front end. Does any one know what the difference is between these two part numbers that are on the parts finder screens for RonAyers.com and PartsFiche.com???
64500-MT3-000 STAY COWL (UPPER) on the Cowl Stay 1 screen
64500-MAJ-G40 STAY COWL (UPPER) on the Cowl Stay 2 screen
Any help is much appreciated. I would call them but I don't trust their response.

The -G40 part is for an ABS, the -000 one is non-ABS.

You're welcome.:)

This site explains what the part numbers mean. There are at least three pages on info worth saving here.
http://www.vsource.org/VFR-RVF_files/BHondaPartNumbers.htm
One page refers to this great french site. It cross checks part numbers to show what models and country models they will fit.
http://www.bike-parts.fr/recherche_piece.php

So, it seems like:
64500-MT3-000 is for non-ABS all years
64500-MAJ-G40 is for ABS from 96 on
64500-MY3-780 is for ABS to the 95 model

This seems logical due to the front end changes on the 96 on (don't know what effective difference there is in the cowel stay from that), and the different electronics that hang off the ABS bikes that need to be bolted on.

Mine is the non-ABS so the ...000 part number is the winner.

Thanks for the help guys!!! :bow1:
