Listers. I am proud to announce that CruiseSTOC 2006 will be taking place at Wichita Falls Texas, at the following Address: 4810 Belair Blvd. Wichita Falls, TX 76310. I will be hosting the event for anybody that wants to install there Audiovox Cruise Control and would like a helping hand. Or anybody that want to come and watch / take notes. I will also be installing mine that weekend of the 18,19 Feb 2006 (President's Day weekend). Hopefully we can get a ST1100 and a ST1300 that has already accomplished this task as a guide and source of info. I have 4 extra beds, some floor space, a back yard to camp, and there are a couple of hotels a few miles from the house. Your choice. Come in when you want and leave when you want. Recommend if you are doing an install arrive Friday evening or Sat early. If you are observing, arrive when you want. Keep in mind Friday night makes a great party night. As tradition of previous ValveSTOC's and KLRSTOC's
Again the Dates are 18,19 Feb 2006 (President's Day weekend)

Tough week-end weather wise for riding, so I drove down to Chuck's from Oklahoma City, and we really didn't expect to see anyone else show up. but along about 6:30 or 7, Steve (Diggers1300) comes knocking on the door.
He'd ridden over from Marshall, TX, so we thawed him out, and started putting the cruise on Chuck's 1300. With Ray's (nm6r) excellent instructions, and Steve's recent installation experience, it went in just like advertised! The cruise fits so well it almost seems like it was made for the 1300.
A big thanks to Ray for his write up, Chuck for supplying the trainer, Steve for his experience, and bigger thanks to Chuck's wife for tolerating all of us!

Well, the Cruse STOC has come and gone. Two bikes were present. Both ST1300's. Mine and Steve Oliver from Marshall Texas STOC# 4104. My bike was the only one that needed the install and Steve had done his bike not too long ago. A big thank you to Steve for his expertise and a great set of instructions from Ray. I also want to thank Fred from OK
City for driving down and lending a hand. Also a thank you to Jeff Bertrand for reminding me which side is left and right on a motorcycle {;-):o: via a phone call to him. But most of all the thanks goes to Steve for riding 350 miles one way in this cold winter weather to help out. Had a lot of fun and when it warms up tomorrow I will take the bike out for a test ride. Also my HighWay Wings arrive and was able to put those on as well. Take a look at the pictures that were taken. They are not in any order and I have not edited them yet. That will come later. Again thanks to all and I hope I can get to McKinney for Tech STOC next weekend Webshots - Images of CruiseSTOC Feb 2006

Chuck:
Have you swapped clutch/brake reservoirs with a later model, painted them silver, or is it just the flash from the camera that makes them look silver?
Paul
Paul,
Chuck wanted his bike to go a little faster, so we gave it a transplant at ValveSTOC from a much faster blue ST. Now that his silver bike has blue blood, it moves at warp speed down the road.

Yeah, Chuck had me stumped for a few minutes 'till I realized he was working on the wrong side of the bike. An "ah ha" moment for sure!

Jeff,
That was my fault. I should have remembered that I ran that purple wire to the right side of the bike away from the rest of the wires. For the record there is a red connector with a green/yellow wire (or is it yellow/green ) on the left/other right side of the bike too! Oh well. It's nice to have a forum like this where a phone call can solve a problem rather quickly.
The Highway Wings are the best I've seen yet for the ST. Chuck and I installed them on mine (see his pics) to get an idea of what they look like since we had his tupperware off. Great farkle, Chuck! Think I'm going to invest in a set.

Took the ST out for about a 25 mile ride to test the Cruise Control and see how the HighWay Wings work. All work just as they should. The cruise keeps the bike at speed 60 mph +/- 2 mph both up and down hill such as they are here in North Texas. Will try to make Tech SToc on Saturday and give it a real break in. Thanks again Steve and Fred for all your help with this project. Next Farkel, I think is the J&M CB. Just need to save up the funds for it. Anybody have one? Am interested in range, clarity, and amplification for a music input.
