FWIW and unscientific. After 2 months in AZ, two myth-busting [or myth-altering] observations:

1--Lots of younger riders: Rather than the stereotypical big-bellied, bearded, bad-a**-geezer, I saw many riders in their 30s, maybe even late 20s in the Mesa area. Admittedly most were on cruisers, and some may have been metric, but I got the sense that cruisers are not merely an aging demographic.

**Makes one remember that cruisers are usually affordable, making them attractive to younger or place-bound people.

2--In Grand Canyon area for a week and saw hundreds of touring HDs or other V-twins on the touring platform. The great majority were QUIET. Nice to see people serious about riding rather than the junior high need to be noticed.

**Again, it makes sense that real touring riders have less need for noise.
