View Full Version : Leds in the mirror

Here's a couple pix of my project. After seeing how kewl ford trucks looked w/ leds in the mirrors i though i'd give it a try on my '93. There's 1 hole on the back of the mirror already, drilled 2 more. I first tried grinding the mirror coating away w/ a small dremel stone, but that left the glass really scratched. A buddy suggested using a small piece of sandpaper taped on the end of a wooden dowl. That worked well. We used a glue gun to glue in the leds. Wired them up w/ a resistor. They are a little more orange than i wanted. Turned out pretty well.

That's really nice! I'd be tempted to try that if electricity and me weren't mortal enemies.

Naaa, the wiring was the easy part. If anyone wants specifics on the leds or resistor let me know and i'll dig them out.
