What wax do you use on your ST? What is the one that shines the most?

I prefer Mother's Paste Wax. Have had good luck and it seems to be fairly easy to remove when waxing (less prone to caking on the bodywork).

If you want to use the best wax ever (that's still reasonably priced), go to this site.
http://www.griotsgarage.com/catalog.jsp?L1=L1_1000&L2=L2_1005
I also recommend the Speedshine. Great for in between "fast" cleanings.
I've used this on my cars & cycles. People that see my vehicles afterwards say they simply "gleam".
BTW - my car is nearly the same color as my '05 ST1300.
I have used meguiars liquid carnauba 3-phase system for years, cleaner - polish - wax.

I'm a BIG fan of Griot's 'Best of Show Wax' and their Speedshine. :03biker:

I'll vouche for Speedshine as well (by it by the gallon!). However, the post was inquiring about wax, not cleaner.

Don't take me as being biased because I work for Honda, but I'm telling you the "Honda Glare Professional Polish" with Glassplexin works incredibly well. I actually just got done putting the "2" coats on my new ST and it looks like a damn mirror. Plus it works great at making the surface ultra smooth. Water will bead off of this SO well. You ought to call your local Honda shop and see if they have some, and if they don't contact me...I'll send you some!

I really like Meguires "Tech Wax". Fully synthetic so it lasts and makes the paint look 10 feet deep! In between, I just hit the paint with some Plexus after washing.

This is for Jordan! Heck you have not had your bike out of the garage yet last I knew of:D . OK, That was bad but I do agree with you and Honda makes the best! I have never been so impressed with a company that makes such great products to take care of what the make. I carry the cleaner polisher with me every where I go and even HD riders love it. Enjoy your new found love and ride like a great wind. I will buy some after I get done with the other 60 diff brands I have in the garage.:nuts1: crap I can't wait for that and will buy. Nothing but the best for my love!

Try Harley Davidson's Hog Wax. It's also a synthetic and is superb. Lasts a long time, and is fairly reasonable in price.

I've been detailing for several years and have tried all the above. None of them even come close to comparing with Zaino. Zaino is more reflective, and is vastly superior in terms of protection and longevity. If you have a high standard for how your bike looks and how well it is protected, I would try Zaino first.
Notable second choices are PS2 and Pinnacle Souveragn (Carnubas). Both nice but not as optically clear, and will not last 1/2 as long. Also very pricey.
Try it and you'll never go back.;)

Zaino...accept no others! This stuff is absolutely amazing. By far the best wax system I've ever used. Do a google search on it and thank me later.:D

I just used recommended by you this new Honda Glare Professional Polish on my tupperware and the windshield. The results exceeded my expectation. Best polish I ever had. My dealer gave me 12oz sample for testing, unfortunately I will by stuck with the $24 bill in the future use.

It IS great stuff isn't it!? I put 2 coats on my new bike the day I got it, and I used it a lot on my last 2 V Stroms. Really makes a very smooth and slick surface doesn't it?

If you can find it "Carolina Liquid Glass", all I can say is wow!
Covers all the small swirlies and goes on, comes off so easy.

A couple of years ago there was a guy that did his own independant test on a Honda car hood. He had gotten a carbon fiber hood, and did this for his own comparrisome.
He had a red hood that he sectioned off in 12 squares. The hood was stripped of all wax and cleaned. It was new enough that there was no fade on the original paint.
He used a variety of waxes including the Zaino 3 step @$130 a pop. The top left corner was left with no wax to use as a baseline. All I remember was the Mothers products lasted the least amount of time, even being a carnuba wax. The fade was all most identical to the no wax area. The top two were the Zaino 3 step and ....... Zymol. The $8 a bottle stuff you get at Wal-Mart. The two were so close it was a judgement call.
He had posted pictures of the 12 week (May have been longer but I don't think so.) experiment taking one pic a week. He posted all 12 pics with one final pic of a side by side of day 1 and week 12.
It was a very interesting post, and I am now a Zymol user. It makes the black on my Busa very deep. One thing with it, you must follow the directions. If you don't mist after the first buffing, it will haze if you get it wet.

I have done a lot of research on wax and tried them all. I live in the midwest and there were a lot of waxes that I could not get here and had to get on line. There were a couple that I could only get from overseas, and I have a locker full of waxes in my garage. Then I read about Maguires(sp) NXT wax that was in MC consumers news. It goes on and comes off VERY easy. It leaves your bike looking wet. I have found that if you put it on and let it sit for a few hours before you remove it, it looks good and lasts. You can get it at Walmart for about $14, and for a bike will last forever. With all of the waxes I have bought and the money I have spent, this was by far the best. Give it a try, I think you will like it. Phil

Does it really haze? I just got some of this at Walmart and it does a great job. The directions don't say you MUST mist/wipe after it just says for optimal gloss mist and wipe. It does a great job but it does dry fast so you can't do a large area then come back to it.

I use plain old Honda Spray and a product called Plexus!
I agree that these seem to be the best products for a quick and easy clean up. Just make sure you follow the instructions on the Plexus and NEVER use paper towels.
Lemon Pledge is also awsome for a nice shine.

I have been using the Honda spray polish on everything painted or plastic. IMHO it does great, especially on windshields. I tried the new Honda glaze it really does make Indigo's blue very deep and bright. For day-to-day bug removal I'll stick with the spray polish, with a bi-weekly touch up with the glaze.

Alternate Maquires Tech Wax and their carnauba. Lately I've been wondering if it is a good idea to wipe the bike off between washes. Seems like the grit under the towell would scratch the paint. Or am I just getting lazy?
