Ive got one. Really loved it at first. The latches seem to be "sticking" when I try to open the flip front now after a year or so.
As far as fit, I would suggest with ANY helmet you try one on before buying. Even in the same brand (HJC) I wear two three different sizes depending on the model.
This was the only affordable flip front that fit me, as the 2XL Symax was too tight oin the forehead. Yes, I would buy another one.

I've got one. The fit is very good. If you don't use ear plugs (I can't stand them), it's a bit noisy with the windscreen in the down position. Otherwise, I like it and am glad I have it.

I agree its abit noisy. I had a problem with one of the hinges coming apart. I was able to snap it back together after many stern words and resisiting the urge to get out my very largest ball pein hammer & really fix it

Decent value.

Palm...

I have an HJC CL-Max. It makes a good decoration on the den TV! Actually I think it is a pretty good helmet, for the money (inexpensive), as far as flip-up's go. I do have some complaints and moved on to a better quality helmet for my purposes. The HJC CL-Max seems to latch hard after a short period of use. The shield also is a bit stiff and I adjust mine often for venting at stops during the winter months and flipping all the way up during stops in the summer (desert riding heat syndrome!!!). The neck strap is absolutely annoying (but the strap is secure when threaded properly and quite common on this grade helmet). There isn't enough room in the ear channel (without modifications) to install comm ear buds, without scraping my ears putting the helmet on and off.

I would recommend heeding LittleJohn's advise about the sizing. I have two HJC helmets, they run much different in sizes between design types. Personally I would never buy a helmet without trying it on in the store for a while, unless I had already sized it in the past.

Best Regards....George

I have one too and can echo what others have said: sticking latch after about a year, noisy and small ear cut-outs. Also, I don't find that the vents flow very much air. I probably will NOT buy another one.

I really like the Nolan that Mixon bought. Costs more but seems to be worth it.

I have the Max too... it sits in the closet... I got the Symax which vents better  Then I got the Scorpion... now that baby VENTS!!!! My only gripe about the HJC's were the shields opening/closing on you when you turn your head while moving, and they leak... big time (at least mine did) :(

The Caberg is the new one... I'm coming off my high on it :o: It's still a nice helmet, but little cheapy things are bothering me. It fell of the bike the other day when I was rotating the tires... top vent cover popped off, it snapped on, but a little side Caberg insignia went off to never never land :( When I start using it again I'm sure it will warm up to me some more

If it hasnt been answered already, the CL Max is a totally different hyelmet than the CL14. The Max is the lower cost HJC flip face, the 14 is a solid front full face. The Sy-Max is the higher end HJC flip front.
