Anyone know anything about Bates FastLane boots? They look really comfortable, but cost about $225.00 directly from Bates Leathers.

You don't see much about Bates any more. They were once THE premier racing leather company, back in the '70s and early 80s, similar to the spot now held by Dainese or Alpinstars. Fast Lane boots were the boot to have. I'm assuming they've been upgraded over the years.

I bought a pair of Tour Master Solution boots. I think they compare favorably with the BMW Gore Tex boot. Still wearing them now 4 hours after I rode and took my dog for a hike. Only $125.00

Hi, Gerry. I have owned a pair of Bates boots for several years; in fact, they need to be resoled. They have been very good boots, but I like my Cruiserworks boots better. They are extremely comfortable (I wear them at work all day long), and they are completely waterproof, so I never have to worry if I get caught in the rain. I really appreciate that. The Cruiserworks are so comfortable and easy to use that I stopped wearing the Bates quite awhile ago. I don't think you can go wrong with the Cruiserworks, and they are about the same price as the Bates (and worth every penny).
