Well, we've added more USB power sources to our lineup.

In addition to our Cigarette To USB Charger Adapter (http://www.cyclenutz.com/products/electrical_accessories/powerlet/plugs_sockets/cigarette_to_usb_charger_adapter.html) and our Powerlet Mini-USB Power adapters (http://www.cyclenutz.com/products/electrical_accessories/powerlet/power_cables/mini_usb_gps_power_plug_ppc-015.html), we've added a couple direct wire USB adapters.

Between the plug-in solutions and our new direct wire ones, you should be pretty well covered when it comes to powering or charging your USB gadgets.

New - Weatherproof USB Power Socket (http://www.cyclenutz.com/products/gps_navigation/gps_accessories/all_weather_usb_hardwire_kit.html) -

Both of the direct wire systems work on 12 volt so, not only are they great on your bike, they will work on your Car, Truck, ATV, RV, and more.

Have you got a USB cable that will power the Garmin Nuvi GPS (presuming, perhaps ignorantly, that there is something unique to it)? Somebody pinched mine when the tupperware was goining back on...
:o:

Edit: DOH! Just looked at the link.

Don't worry, there are no assumptions when it comes to Garmin.

Either of those hardwire kits will work with for the units BUT some may need the Powerlet PPC-024 . The reason for this is that the GPS thinks it's in charging mode and won't go to GPS mode. The PPC-024 modifies the pin-out of the mini-usb connector to allow it to be used in GPS mode while under power.

I've personally got a 255w that I just keep the PPC-024 plugged into it all the time. Then I've got my bike power source and in my car I use the Cigarette To USB Charger Adapter and the Usb cable that came with the GPS.

Very nice but seems like a lot of trouble as these have been out a while... From $2 to $5 cost.

PS ; as to Garmin, be careful as only Garmin USb or specific equal will run the gps in the normal mode ( straight usb cable runs it only in comptr mode )

Very true, there are a variety of options out there.

I tend to get more riders without standard cig lighters on their bikes that are looking for alternatives.

That's why we carry everything from the standard cig-style to the direct wires I mentioned in the OP.

To go mini USB or micro, sometimes you can find regular USB cables with the right adapter or a short adapter from mini to micro. That way, you just have regular USB outlets. Also there are cheap USB chargers with the appropriate cable, cheaper than you can buy separate cables, but you have to make sure they are the data type if you want to use them for data transfers.

I've had some questions about dimensions so I've added them to the original post.
