I notice that the left hand side exhaust blows a bit more smoke that the right exhaust when he choke is pulled out (especially noticable of cold, damp days). There is only a minor appreciable difference in exhaust pressure (measured by holding hand cclose to exhaust !)
when I examined all the plugs at last service they were all fine...no carbon deposits etc.
any ideas on what could be causing this ?
Thanks

EDIT: I shoulda looked at the forum section "ST1100 Tech", sry.
Choke? Must be a St1100 :). I have seen this on the my ST1300, and my old SuperHawk. On the SuperHawk ( a v-twin) the rear cylinder is slightly hotter, so it was normal. I don't worry about it, and I don't haven't seen any issues in performance.
Maybe someone more knowlegable will chime in.

Just a guess here; if it's only on cold damp days, it may well be more water vapor than smoke. If it doesn't do it on warm days, then I wouldn't worry.
Probably just water vapour. I find that the build up of water vapour can vary between the pipes in terms of the drips from the drain holes.

it happens to some of our Singapore owners as well, I didnt follow up with them for the outcome since after.
what I guess it could be the tiny hole under the exhaust being blocked with road grim/dirt causing it to have more 'smoke'.. :D try to remove it by gently scratching it untill u hear the hissling sound when ur finger is near.
