Been busy working on other products for the ST.
Our mounts for hiway pegs are now ready. Our design uses a set of rear ST1300 passenger foot rests with a modified mount welded into the factory engine guard. They fold in under the plastic tipover wings. Very little cornering clearance is lost as they are very tight to the fairing.
The cost to add the mounts to your engine guards is $75.00 a set
The additional parts required from Honda are under $100.00 (a list is included on my website)
I wanted to maintain a factory installed look allong with function.
They are easy to deploy and retract with your foot. They retain the factory ball detents for postive stops.
If there is enought interest i will purchase several sets of the engine guards and modify then to do an exchange program.
There are more pictures with the link provided.
Let me know what you think. Thanks Tom

Tom,
Very nice job , your hard work and deication to detail show in the end product, I would be interested. Are they relatively easy to install and take off ? they appear to be.
I'm over in Lake Forest and would be interested in getting a live look at them if that is possible.
Have a nice night,

Tom,
I don't know if it's my problem or yours but when I try to pull up the PDF file on your site I get:
"Error reading linearized hint data"
I've never seen this before. Just a heads up in case it's you - maybe someone reading the forum can tell me what this message means.

Hi Tom,
Any chance you could post some larger pics? Since I don't use my passenger pegs this is a good solution for me.
Are you offering to cut the wings also?
Curt
Can you also list the parts that are fully required on your website? It would be nice see it as a full turn-key solution rather than just the $75.

Tom
I could probably be persuaded into the pegs. I would however like to see some more pics from levels closer to the ground.
Thanks

Sorry for the inactive link, it worked when i left the shop tonight.
Will get it up on Monday.
All the info that you are requesting is located on that link. Including alot more pictures.
For the $75.00 i will modify your engine guard pair and the tipover wing covers. The rest of the parts are just under $100.00 from Honda.
If you wanted to purchase another set of the stock engine guards they are around $150.00 for the set.
I have put together a complete list of the Honda part numbers on my website (as soon as the link is fixed).
My ST is at my shop every day. If anyone wants to take a good look at them I'm there from 8:00 am-5:00pm.
The pictures do not show how really nice and how factory that these look.
The modified parts are easy to install but the modifcations are perminent.
Replacement engine guards and the tipover wing plastic would need to be replaced to return it to stock.
Thanks again Tom

Download the PDF file and blow the pics up as much as you want from the Adobe tool bar.
From the pics shown I can't see if when folded the pegs are behind the corner of the wings or does the end of the folded peg come flush to the corner of the wing?
Looks like a good product.............
Thanks Tom!!!

The pegs extend about 1 1/2 inch behind the end of the wing. That way you can flip them out with your toe.

These look interesting, but not as elegant as the Rackman Hi-way wings. See if this pdf works better.

Do you have any pictures or links to the Rackman Wings so we can compare it to Tom's mod?

Tom,
it is a very nice set-up. I have been waiting for a set of highway pegs that look integrated into the lines of the bike. I also like using the Honda pegs to match the others.
Count me in!
Jefro in Huntington Beach.
Hi Tom,
Those highway pegs look great. Again, being somewhat height challanged 5'9-10" I would like to make sure they will fit comfortably. Not to get personal, but, what is the inseam size of the model in the photo?

I'll be at Tom's shop thursday at 3pm to check out the fit. My inseam is about 32inch, and I'll let you know how the fit is.
I'm also going to pitch Tom an idea for a Givi 81 luggage rack that will clear the wing on the topbox. I even made up a test fixture to raise the rack 1 1/2 inches.

Jefro:
Is this what you want to do?
This took me about 20 mins with a torch and a couple of 2x4 pieces. Plus some nice black crinkle paint.

Yes, that's the rack I have. But even if I bent it up, I still can't wash or wax underneath it properly, and with the t-bag strapped to it, I'm afraid the bag will be too close to the paint and rub it on a long trip.
I'm going to raise it about 1 1/4 inches for clearance for bungees and rope.

Thanks, I'll look forward to hearing from you.
I want to be able to drive down there myself pretty soon and see if I can do an exchange with Tom.
This is exactly what I am looking for. Next comes a new seat.

Jefro:
Trust me, you need to reinforce the mounts for that rack. Mine shows some stress cracks in the paint and I have not loaded too heavy at all. Big washers backed by rubber ones.

I stopped by Tom's shop today to check out his new Hiway Pegs up close. Very nice!
He told me of the structural support he added to the tip over bars, the detents that firmly lock the pegs in or out, and the ablilty to use the toe of your boot to deploy the pegs.
He explained that he wanted to make his Hiway Pegs a bit closer to the rider than other brands to avoid hitting your shins on the body plastic, or sitting bow-legged just to get your feet on the pegs.
He succeded in making a set that felt comfortable and easy to use. I am average height and leg length, and the location of the pegs seems right.
Tom is probably over 6ft tall, and the photos of him with his feet on the pegs on his website show him to be comfortable on the pegs.
He showed me the welding fixture for the bars, and it appears he could be gearing up for production soon.
He also mentioned some really cool products for the ST1300 that he will be introducing later.
Jefro.

I also stopped by Tom's shop and checked the ergos.
I'm 5'"9/ 29" inseam. I found the position to be comfortable without "bowl-legging".
Like everything I've seen Tom design, the Hiway pegs are expertly executed, almost as if Honda did it.

Tom, been waiting for this since i bought my '05. Will be riding up to Vancouver BC late April and want the stretch for my old knees.. What is the turn-around time when fex-'ed to you? I would like to send the bars and covers. Since i'm always solo, i will just move my passenger pegs to the new location. pmorritt@lojack.com
Tom I'm also looking to send mine in as soon as a buddy stops by to Break the bolts loose from the motor and frame. After breaking collar bone sking last week I did manage to get the body work off, but with one arm I must wait for help to get guards off Please post process for sending in parts for modifing If others need fast turn around Mine would be availible to swap as I will not be on bike for at least another 10 weeks.

If someone with a ST1100 locally would allow me to use their ride as a proto type, I would be glad to make a set.

Would it work if I sent in my bars or do you need the entire bike?

Cowboy
I would need the whole 1100 to get all the angles correct. I have seen several 1100's in the area. Maybe someone would stop by and let me take a closer look at one.
Thanks Tom
