Have your exhaust pipes gone from a beautiful polished stainlless to a tarnished eye sore? Well my brothers and sisters, I have just the product that WILL bring back the wonderful color we fell in love with when we first picked up our bikes.
This product takes about 15 minets to clean the pipes.
For a nominal fee of a lunch when we next meet. I'll share this wonderfull time saving product.
If you are interested, please reply to this post.

Thanks for the offer, but I LIKE the golden hue. It says that my bike isn't a trailer queen; she actually has to get out, and work up a sweat.
Sure, I wash her ... now and again. I just don't sweat the small stuff .....:04biker:

Discolored pipes are like wearing tires, it means the owner is enjoying his/her ride. :p:
I met a guy tonight on an 05 ST. His pipes were VERY gold. I asked how many miles?? He said he had the bike 2 months, 1800 miles.
My pipes have tarnished a little....every once in awhile I'll apply some Mother's-- but I could not believe how bad his pipes looked w/ less than 2000 miles.
So what's your secret???

I use red scotch brite pad with any chrome polish and clean the stainless steel back to the chrome canister of the muffler. Works fine and quick.

I like the looks of the gold pipes so much that I used the old trick of cleaning the pipes of all road grime and wiping them down with an even layer of WD-40 and then firing the engine and letting it heat the pipes. The oil warmed, it smoked, it burned off, leaving a nice golden hue all over, not just at the area of the cans that houses the catalytic converters. But for those of you who really want the polished stainless look, it's no big mystery, the very best way to keep em clean and shiny is....(drum roll please)

You guys are just no fun.:D
With that said, I'll just give you this time saving product, free of charge. BTW, this works great on your copper cooking pans as well.
STony G is da man.
I just threw away my Mother's, Blue Magic and some others that did not work on the pipes....picked up some Kleen King.....amazing stuff.
I tested on the wife's copper pots first....holy crap....like new. She thought I was crazy. I explained that I really cared about her, blah blah blah, was wanting to do something nice for her...actually, I simply am using it on the stupid pots as Guinea Pigs...before I use it on my beloved ST !!!
Applied some on the pipes....first pass was very good. For kicks, I did a second pass....WOW !! Also, very easy to apply and use.
Now....because I am waiting for new Battalx's to be delivered and I have time on my hands...I dabbed some on the very tarnished/copper colored header pipe on the left side. AMAZING....no effort, the pipe came back to orig color.
I won't do the other header pipes because I don't want to get a rep that I am not a tough gristled rider. :D
Kleen King = recommended.

Thanks for the advice. I'll try it. As someone asked - can it be bought at local stores, or just mail order?

I bought it at Safeway. I think if you Google it you can find someplace near you that sells it.

I think we got it at Vons.
I think I'll just have to buy 10 lbs of this stuff, put it in a different container, add a sponge, slap the black and orange wing and bar, sell it for $25.00 each, send a portion to HD headquarters, and then retire.

H-D's don't have stainless steel pipes. :)

Bought some Kleen King at a Tom Thumb grocery this past week...in the Dallas, Tx area. Wow...this stuff works great on the pipes. I even had the remains of a black plastic trash sack that had blown onto my hot pipes in a parking lot. It didn't take much rubbing at all to clean the black, hardened plastic off the pipe. Great stuff and a great recommendation.

I don't know....I just Kleened them....but it's so easy with this stuff I don't care. It's a breeze. No real serious elbo grease necessary.

S100 has a polishing "soap" that is great for our polished SS exhaust system. It works like saddle soap for leather. Nice suds created with a little water and then lightly rub with the enclosed sponge.
Yeah cleaning and such are time away from riding but there are certain things that a man needs, along with riding (motorcycles that is ).
Time2run B4 I get flamed by the other side (Yes they need other things besides riding too). :flame

At first I didnt like the discoloration, but now I think it belongs there. IMO this bike is not about shiny chrome like a cruiser. I think of it as a distinctive trade mark of a high performance bike. At the same time, it's your bike, and if keeping that tarnish off makes you happy, then you go for it ! :)
My problem is figuring out how to remove a heel mark. :(
Will the Kleen King work well on that ?

I was very surprised at how easy the melted plastic bag came off the pipe. I bet the heal mark will come off just as easy....but guess what...that part of the pipe is going to brighten into a bright shiny spot. Go ahead....shine 'em up. ;-)

Thanks, I will give it a try. The heel marks are getting worse, and I cant even tell when I'm doing it. I guess its due to having big feet !! :(
