Never too early to start making plans.

My question: Has a hotel/gathering place been picked yet?

I foresee many changes this year with my job and want to start thinking about this stuff now.

Thanks in advance.

Hope your changes aren't as rough as the ones I'm facing at work. Waiting on the named hotel too, but already have the route planned through the four corners area, can't wait.:D

Brian,
When do you plan to be in the four corners area? I plan on taking a week for westoc.

Brian,

If I am not mistaken...you just had a little addition to the family. Airlines--tough business. Hope things stabilize for you.

Otherwise, I too, am always curious about others routes...especially to WESTOC. What's your plan??

How far is Golden from Denver? Can we book rooms now or should we wait for our discount codes?
TIA

As was mentioned - it's basically a suburb.

We have a contact name now, but it may be better to wait juST a bit longer in case we are assigned a number.

Hey, I may be able to attend, wa hoo! It's only an annoying 8-hour superslab ride from SLC ... so depending on when it is I might be able to do this.

But ... I already have a SW Colorado ride planned to Durango and the south west area of CO ... 4 day ride ... man, I need more PTO ...

Avoid the slab... Take US 40... not too bad of a ride, beats the Interstate
all to heck..

Yeah, most likely that's the route I'd take to get to Denver. A bit longer than the slab but much better. Though ... from SLC to Steamboat it's a damn boring ride. LOL

Would be nice to meet other ST'ers, learn the tricks, farkles, and so on. I do love my Vulcan to death, but man, all I wanna ride now is my STeed. LOL

Here's a little more info on WeSTOC XI until the website is up and running:

The dates are September 4th through 6th, 2006 at
the Marriott Denver West on the north side of
I-70 at exit 263, right up against the foothills.
(GPS: N39-44.426 W105-09.689) This venue is
reported to be one of Marriott’s premier
facilities. Checkout their website at:
http://marriott.com/property/propertypage/DENWE.
Disregard their posted rates, we managed to
negotiate a rate less than half that at $75 +
4.6% tax per night, single or multiple occupancy.
Reservations can be made at 1-888-238-1803,
mention WeSTOC for the preferred room rates. We
were able to reserve a block of 125 rooms, but
don’t delay, they could go fast. (I would
encourage everyone to register as early as
possible so we have time to block-out some more
rooms if necessary, thanks.) They have agreed to
honor these rates for two days before the actual
event begins in case anyone wants to arrive early
and spend a little more time in the area.

See ya there!!!!

Just for the new guys, here are some web sites for past WeSTOCs, to give you an idea of what you're in for. :D

http://www.st-riders.com/westoc_ix/

The WeSTOCX site already has the intro page changed for WeSTOC XI, but the links are still last year's event.

When I get the chance, I'll post a jpeg of the route. It'll be a couple of weeks due to modifying the home computer.

I don't know if I'll have a career here within the next year. My options in this industry are limited unless I'm willing to lose half my income...

Ha!!! I've ridden Wings to the laST two and a BMW R1150GS to the WeSTOC 2001 in Kimberley BC!!! I might have rode my V-STrom to one of the recent ones, but sold it.

This year I promise to be on a ST!!!!

Actually, you may wish you had brought the V-STrom!!! A lot of really nice dual-sport roads around this way.

(I gotta quit talking like that - otherwise I'll get the bug (again) to get another).

I put about 3500 or so miles on my '03 and enjoyed it. I have owned 3 Honda TransAlps and the V-STrom always reminded me of what the TA SHOULD be (and maybe is now in Europe where they STill sell it).

Rod, what do you think should I bring Step Child to the rally? May be I will do one day with the KLR and another with the ST1300. I think a ride over top of Guanella Pass From Grant into George Town would be a good ride for some one with a the V-Strom. If anybody is interest I could lead a light dualsport ride.

When you you get to Georgetown, you could get all the bikes on the
"Loop" and REALLY give em a ride..

Since you will have it there, why not?!?! I don't have all those choices on what to bring..............as of tomorow, the only STeed in my garage will be my ST1100! (well, I guess I could bring the little NX!!) My GL1800A will be on it's way to the new owner.

Made my reservations at the Motel 6 in Wheat Ridge..
35 bucks a night.... Cheap sleep...

Putt...

If you split a room with another liSTer (as moST of us do), it will be about the same price as what you are paying at Motel 6 - plus you will be right where all the WeSTOC activities are. And I think you will find the amenities juST a tad nicer at the Marriott.

I have my reservation in. $75 per night split between two people is a great deal. I usually end up in roach motels.
See Ya there Rod. Hope you're riding a 06 ST1300 ;)
By the way my brother that lived in Loveland for awhile moved back to Colorado and bought a house in Evans.
