No crimping, no soldering, no tools (if you use your teeth to strip your wires ;) ).

I'm really getting to like Posi-Locks as a means to quickly wire things with the option to remove them later if I want to make it a more permanent install however I've never had a need up to this point.

If you're not familiar with Posi-Lock products here's their website:

Don't take my word for it... here's a review from webbikeworld:

Here's a review on the Posi-Tap (they also make a smaller wire guage version now also):
http://www.webbikeworld.com/r2/posi-tap/posi-tap.htm

I added a blade style fuse this past weekend and didn't like trying to match the gauge of the wire I ran to battery and the gauge of the wire that was attached to the fuse holder I bought. So I decided to get a new product from Posi-Lock called the Posi-Fuse. They have fuseholders for tube style fuses and now have a new on that holds ATC/ATO/mini style blade fuses. It holds the fuse extremely well and allows you to use the same or different wire on either side of the fuse. Once locked into place you would be hard pressed to be able to pull the wires out. I don't know how much it would take but I'll say it would be more than 20lbs of pressure.

Super easy to use and practically no tools except for a wire strippers.

I'll include some pics of one.

I carry about a double arm load of these things in every size, shape and color in my tool kit. Their great.

Paul

I've now added a few to keep on the bike to patch a broken wire or whatever I would need it for.

Can you buy Posi-fuse or Posi-taps at any of the big box stores (Lowe's, Home Depot) or local hardware stores? Or do they have to be ordered online?

Am I right that if you are wanting to tap into an OEM wire, that you would have to either disconnect the 'attached end from the lamp, etc. or dismantle the Hitachi connector to gain access to use a posi-tap? This would seem to work best for 'new' applications, rather than tapping into an existing harness.

If you are talking about the posi-tap you don't have to disassembly anything. The posi-tap (not the posi-fuse) unscrews from both ends. On the one end you slip the wire you want to tap into the end of it and then screw the cap down on it. The cap has a sharp point in it that pierces the wire and connects it into the tap. Then unscrew the other end of the posi-tap and put in the wire that you are adding (the wire you want power to go to)
