Both pics same subject, same location. This's gonna be fun 8-)
Don,
Cool, what is the mm equivalent?
And you are able to write this purchase off because it is going to be used for work? :-)

Amazing zoom quality Uncle D.
35mm equiv = 105mm.
Here's some pix of the boys aloft
So your job is to take pictures of guys on telephone poles? :-)
And do you get to ride your bike to do it? :bow1: :bow1:

I muST use my four wheeled transport device for this gig but I prowl some of the beST MC roads in the SoCa area. I get paid to pre-run routes for the weekend rides :-)
What's with the telephone pole in the middle of the driveway?
Paul
That pic has been floating around the 'net for a while. The STory told is that a crew was going to place a pole in front of that house to left of the current location. The owner complained that it would block his view out the windows and supposedly threatened the crew if they put it there...Then he left for work. What you see is supposed to be the results.
After dealing with poles for 42 years I would say that the house/ driveway was built and the pole was never moved, not an uncommon
scenario.
Makes for fun reactions to the pic tho'.

With the tele-extender it should be more than 105. The Canon A series digicams lens is typically 35-105 equiv. Digicam extenders are typically 1.5-1.7x.
Absolutely correct Norman..The the 105 is the A85 at max tele. X 2.4 for the extender!
Lemme get my calculator.
I have the A-7.. Have been thinking about getting the tele-extender
for that one... Any image degredation that you can tell Don??

They look good to me. I have not printed any taken with the ext. .. viewed on my TV they look great. The ones of the linemen look good until I max them with the zoom on the camera, then they get grainy but they were shot at loweST res and normal comp.
The lens (TC DC52) and adapter (LA DC52c) was very reasonable at about $104 from Amazon.
I juST got a new 1GB card and at low res, normal comp it's good for almoST 9000 images! :p:
1 gig card here and around 900 at hi res..
7meg chips provide pretty good resolution, but
take up a fair amount of space on the card...
