More reasons I wish Honda Japan would come over here and ask what we want....

Looks a lot like a Garmin but it can be installed on any Honda bike....

Looks like a Garmin because it IS a Garmin.
Garmin OE's that for Honda.

BMW had Garmin design a cradle just for BMW. It is said not to work with a regular 2610 but I think it would. I'm still waiting for an opportunity to try it with my 2610. Looks like Honda worked something up. I sure would like to get the attachment piece.

Well after spending an hour randomly clicking on Japanese sites, I'm still looking for their bracket they make for the Honda OEM Garmin....I'll let you know if I find it.

I want the little button hookup they have. I would really like a zoom in and out button setup like on the BMW Navigator II cradle. Touratech has one that's all aluminum but it is pretty $$$$.

You could get one of these:

Very clever use of the IR sensor to add extra controls. I'm surprised Garmin never came up with something like that as an add-on. (Or, I guess they did, but they only sell it through BMW...)

Yep I've been looking at that for about 2 years now since they started development but with the GPS on the dash I don't have the room for it so the little wired remote seems to be the key to my solutions.
Here's the touratech one:

You mean one of these BMW Garmin brackets:

Not a very good picture I am afraid, but this is one of the first BMW brackets bought out for the Garmin.
If you put the normal 2610 into the bracket it will not work with the zoom buttons on the left.
The Garmin unit in the picture is a BMW Garmin which was fitted on the bike when I bought it. There is a CD in the package that has BMW software on it, and this may just have some script that runs the brakcet with the Garmin.
I have not had time to try it on my other Garmin and put teh BMW software in, maybe one day I will get round to it.

I would be really interested in knowing if it would work so if you ever get a friend that has a 2610 that is willing to try it please do and let me know the results. Meanwhile I'll get to work on filling in the Bering Straight and ride my *** to your place. ;)

Last I checked, the BMW mount with the extra buttons isn't available separately at all. Garmin made a similar unit for the SP III series that could be purchases separately, but I believe the BMW mount / 2610 combo is only available as a pair, and only from BMW. And, of course, priced as you would expect from BMW.
That touratech unit looks interesting. What does it cost?

Ive never seen this, and that about my only gripe with my SP III is the size of the zoom buttons. Have you got any more info on this item?
Thanks!!!

Check out posts 8 + 14.
Post 8 shows the BMW Garmin in situ on my machine, not a brilliant picture but there you go.
Post 14 by Redeye gives you the link to the Dutch Web Site.

That is a much better solution than the GL1800 Navigation system they did - unless they downgraded the Software in the same way they did on that bike.
At least you can take it from vehicle to vehicle.
Knowing the Honda price on the NAV for the GL1800 I expect this unit to cost around $2000 if they ever brought it to the US.

LittleJohn:
I just did some searches and it appears my memory was faulty. The current BMW version is called the Navigator II, and the SP III based one was called the Navigator. I remembered it as being similar to the N-II, but I was mistaken. I was correct in that Garmin offered the N-I directly, but it was apprently just an SP III with some added database entries (BMW dealers, for example) and other features. It did not include any extra buttons.
My apologies for the mistake.
