Any tips on doing this. Is it as easy as unbolting OEM handlbars and slipping the risers underneath. Would like to do this before leaving Arlington, TX on Friday (in the cold) headed to Atlanta. Also fitting a pair of Motorcycle Larry fottpeg lowering blocks. This will be simple.

Thanks

The riser plate is fairly simple, but with the possibility of dropping nuts, etc. I wouldnt try it in the dealer parking lot before I had even familiarized myself with the bike. On the footpeg lowerers, be ready to adjust both the shifter if needed, and the brake pedal (Dont forget to adjust the brakelight switch too if you adjust the brake!!! Dont ask....LOL)

How large are you, Brit? I'm 6'5" with a 35-36" inseam. I have the peg lowering brackets but decided not to use them. +1 on not doing it in the dealer lot! If you get in a hurry you are liable to strip a thread.....I had a heck of a time with the hex screw on the right side. My left boot heel contacts the exhaust on upshifts and the lowering brackets were bound to make this worse. Best advice I got (and ignored!) was RIDE IT for awhile before you make major changes! If not, you have nothing to compare it to!

IMHO if you are set on installing the Heli bar riser before you head home pay the dealer the $75 for the install. Less stress on you before you make the ride home.

Have some good quality/condition allen drivers on hand. My screws were tighter than sh*t. Soft steel/bad condition ones will NOT get the job done and screw-up the allen heads. Oh yeah, do not remove the nuts/washers from under the triple clamp, use some tape on the nuts on the bottom side when you disassemble so you do not have to hold/place them on reinstall, I know that saved me some hassle.
