View Full Version : Garmin 2610 <> Autocom cable #171
Just got my Autocom cable 171 (audiocable for Garmin) in for my Garmin 2610. It appears that the 2.5 mm plug does not make a good connection to the Garmin power/audio cable when all the way in. If I pull the plug out just a tiny bit, it works fine. Anyone else seen this?

Funny you should mention it I just installed my Autocom the intercom is great nut I get no audio from my GPS. I have tried backing out the plug also but mine doesn't work at all.:03biker:
Well its not a big deal. I can always put a little O-ring or similar in between.
In your case.......
Of course you got the volume turned up.......:D
It needs to go where your phone goes into the Autocom. If you use both cellphone and GPS, you need an Autocom split cable #57.

If you are using the Autocom unit to its extreme, that being music, cellphone and GPS, Autocm recommend the use of the isolator box in order to expand the system and of course, isolate the wiring.
On the other hand, I was in the same position as yourselves a short time back where I had just changed bikes. I found that the audio was not working from the Garmin with the lead fully pushed in, I had to pull it out a little for it to work, as has been posted. (I do have the isolator box in line)
I bought a new cable and voila, it all worked again. It appears that as the audio cable was being routed from the back of the bike to the front, the plug had been bent and twisted so much that it had broke one of the small cables by the plug.
