Guys and Gals, I am flying out tomorrow from NC to buy an 04 ST1300ABS in San Diego. It has about 15K on it but in great shape and with extended warranty, Honda top case, risers, fairing wind protector thingies and all recalls done with almost new tires , and heated vest hook up (I think a fair price at $10,500-what do you think?). I'm gonna put on symtec heated grips before leaving and riding back to NC. I could have shipped it, but I hate buying anythihg sight unseen. I'm having a Corbin shipped to there (hope it arrives today as promised out of Hollister). I'll take about 3 or 4 days coming back. It 's an adventure. BTW, I've done a 50CC and 100CCC before so not a stranger to this ride. My hope is to get it painted white so as to have a "police" bike look. I loved the white with black trim when seen a year or so ago at Atlanta Bike show.

Wow, coast to coast on your maiden voyage. Awesome. If you got the time, you could stop at TechSToc (http://www.st-owners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8312)in Texas, (expert oil change, complete inspection, and tutorials from the beST ST techs in the USA- Free yet priceless!!) and even ride back wth Brian from Conneticut (http://www.st-owners.com/forums/showpost.php?p=83098&postcount=12)("Georgeorge"...Yes, that is him in his Avatar).

Hmmm, I'll have to look into that. I'll find out when the oil was changed last. It has been fed a diet of Mobil 1 I'm told. I've done the 50CC and 100CCC before on a GL1800ABS. I'll have the Corbin (hope it comes in on time) and risers to help. The guy I'm getting it from has what looks in pics like the regular MCL risers. I may add the riser plate later. Once I add my heated grips and vest hookup, it should be good to go. I'll likely not push it or ride into the night like iron butt rides require. I will cover 500-600 mi. on Sunday if all works out well and then maybe 700-800/day and get back on Wed. That is not an overwhelming pace. It will let me break in the Corbin too (or my butt  ). I've now got an 03 DL1000 with about 50,000 mi. and an 04 DL650 with close to 30,000 on. I love them and don't think the ST will be more comfy, but I've just had the itch to give the ST a long try and to do the white/black scheme. As for pictures on the way, I can just show you some sand and cactus for one pic and that would be about half the trip, LOL. There is a ton of real estate between coasts.

Good question. I'll post a new thread in the Southeast forum (we seem to be using just one huge one... heck, we've got a whole forum, for crying out loud!).

I bought this hack last week and am having it shipped from Kansas to Florida. Unlike you, I have no idea what I bought. Hope it is as reported on ebay. I owned a ST1100 last year, but the hack is new to me. Well it should be interesting, but had to do it. Wife kept having trouble with legs when I rode any distance. This is the answer I hope. John
