I expect most of you have seen this, it's been around awhile but for the benifit of the newer members of this forum I'll post it anyway. Never can be reminded of safe riding too often.

I like that vid, thanks for posting.
I also have the UK police riders handbook, motorcycle roadcraft I believe it's called. I like their attitude.
Then again, I remember a vid I saw with Shane "Shakey" Byrne in it, absolutely unbelieveable that no one got killed. Wild riding through the streets.
Stuff like the vid in this post promotes a positive motorcycle image, it would be great to use in an MSF class. Hank

Living where I do in the middle of the Wiltshire countryside in the UK, you have no idea how accurate that video is. That's how I ride every time I go out because you have no idea at all what is round the next corner, even if you went round it 5 minutes earlier. Typical obstacles for me to encounter include...
Piles of wet, slippery, steaming horse or cow dung.
Tractors turning out of fields towing machinery that takes up 7/8th of the road width and that if you collided with it would cause multiple stab wounds across 99% of your body.
Piles of mud splattered for 100's of yards down the road where a farmer pulled out of his field and decided to take a ton of it with him.
Microclimates galore especially on days like we're having at the moment where the temperature ranges from -7 deg C at night to +7 or 8 in the day.
Lorries (trucks) using roads that are plainly unsuitable for them but shave 3 miles off their journey. Being driven at well over suitable speed and with no chance of stopping in a short distance should they need to.
More concealed entrances to houses, fields, pubs and chruches than you can imagine.
And finally the very worst of all... the local. These are people that have lived here all their lives and 'know' the roads and lanes like the back of their hand. For some reason they think they are indestructible and infallible and drive with absolutely no regard for themselves, speed limits, their capabilities or anyone else. It is up to you to get out of their way because they won't slow or take any avoiding action for you. You're not even there in their heads.
That's why the biggest thing that will ever save your life on a motorcycle in my opinion is observation and responsible actions taken on those observations. Your responsible actions include your speed, gear, position etc. At the end of the day, the System that Mick is telling everyone about and the posts in other threads from Carl and other people are all ultimately about this one thing. Your life is in your hands.
Good video... I like it every time I see it on the TV.
Regards,
Had never seen that before, so thank you for posting it! I've sent it on to some family and friends who will get a kick out of it. Nice reminders for some of us who are approaching the riding season. Cheers!

Why don't you see these types of videos in the US from NHTSA. Oh that's right. They don't want to spend your tax money on anything but lobbying for helmet laws even though it is illegal for them to do that.
I'm not bitter.
