I read through most of the threads about the BT020 and I know about the F designation but I ran into something while ordering. I'm ordering from a Canadian distributor called Motovan. I looked up the ST1300 OEM numbers but found the part numbers for the OEM front was the same as the general usage front. The number for the rear was different. Is the rear the only tire that is different for the ST and the front a general use tire?

AFAIK the only available front is the OEM now. Bridgstone stopped making the lesser front a few years ago. The "F" is still the only way to go on the rear. HTH
Just curious, I thought Motovan would only sell at the dealer level. Can you swing wholesale prices as an individual?
F tire------- load rating of 73 = 805#. Z speed rating of 149mph+
non F tire---load rating of 72 = 783#. H speed rating of 130mph
If I was purchasing one of these tires I would buy the one with the best price, which usually is NOT from the stealership. I accept 20% less tread life for 50% less cost, but thats just me. The speed rating doesnt mean much to me, my ST doesnt cruise at 130.
If I wanna cruise that fast you will find me on the ZX12R, with Z rated BT020 rear, Z rated BT010 front. ( gonna have to find a new front though, the BT010 supply is gone:( )

Sounds like ordered the right ones.
No Motovan is a distributor but my buddy owns a shop so I order through him. I go into the catalogs, look up the part numbers and say order me these. He also sponsors my racing.....so if you're ever in Calgary go to Performance Cycle and Auto. His kid is getting into roadracing this year so it's pay back time.
:old1: This guy kind of looks like me when I had my hip replaced.

I have the higher load rated BT020's on my ST1100. I got the one that is specifically made for the BMW LT, thinking it would last longer. They now have 7k miles, and the rear is almost gone. Looks like it doesn't last one bit longer than the standard version.

Actuall Both U and F are Z rated, at least according to the Bridgestone web site.

www.partscanada.com lists the ST1300 BT-020-F OEM tires as such:
501500 - 120/70ZR18 Front
501501 - 170/60ZR17 Rear
I bought mine last week. Rear came within 2 days, front won't be here until June 20. Just in time for CanSToc
