Re: Replacement for the Honda ST1300 in 2014?

Are you sure about that? From Honda's corporate website.

Remember too that these figures include dirt bikes and quads which IIRC, make up about 50% of the North American market.
Yes, I am. Those figures are probably for all vehicles, including small scooters. The export figures for motorcycles are much lower and the US leads all export markets from Jan-Jun 2013 according to Web Bike World. See the link I posted earlier. They break exports down by engine size and like any statistic, its how you spin it.

I guess my point to this is the US is still a large market when comparing apples to apples--in this case motorcycle sales. When you throw scooters into the mix it really skews things toward the developing countries, but it does the same for the rest of the export markets, i.e. Europe.

Fair enough, but the con US is also a geographically huge country when compared to Europe. So the costs of distribution and support are much higher in North America. That makes the US less appealing and may explain why models like the CrossTourer don't come to North America. If their costs put the price too high, and the model(s) don't sell, then they lose money, even if they are successful in Europe with (maybe) smaller numbers.

Maybe, but it'd be nice to see how they would have sold when they were new models.

I really don't know how manufacturers reach their decision to sell or not sell a bike here, or even why they made different models for the US and North American market. Even today, the 2013 Trophy comes with the optional low seat for the North American market and a regular height seat for the rest of the world. It is a very uncomfortable bike with the low seat.

I'm too impressed that his/her dealer has the 2014 ST1300 already to even wonder what A-H is. But I'll take a second: Anti-Harley?

My guess is that its labelled incorrectly. Any model on the floor of a dealer would also be on the corporate website. Not.
More likely, it is a 2013 ST1300A in black.

Close....... it's the Anti-Honda....and it's coming.....tomorrow..........
The Anti-Honda. Sounds like the advertising campaign for 7-up in the 70's -- the 'un-Cola'. I guess that would make the CTX13 the 'un-Cruiser' ;)

A new Valkyrie? That thing? Seriously? Who comes up with this stuff? I am sure this will appeal to someone and I don't want to offend anyone but... I hope some folks get fired from Honda.

I'll bet that new Valkyrie outsells the Rune. By one or two...

Well, I guess Honda was missing something to compete with the V-rod - which is such a huge seller for HD.
