I had a conference up in Germany so I rode up. Passo di Gavia (2621 meters/8600 feet) was again beyond words. It was very wet and the road is very narrow then gets rough to the top. It was pouring rain at the top. Sorry I didn't stop lower on the way up and get any photos.

Here are a few photos from the Stelvio Pass (2758 meters/9048.6 feet). I went up from the Bormio side. 36 degrees on top.

A Snow Cat, something just wrong with this at this time of year.

Looking up towards the top that just disapears into the clouds.

Two photos from about halfway up looking back down, squiggles, love it!!!

The obligatory photo with the pass sign.

JD thanks for the photos! I was there August 2005 and the weather was perfect! Hard to describe the view as you look over the route up! Is the sausage guy still there with his stand?
