When in Norway: only if its really urgent...

IMG_20180819_205640-01.jpeg

Every day you get blown away by the scenery...

One heavily crusted ST in front of a very fancy hotel...
(dined a HUGE bowl of mussels there... SOOO good... )

- just got to remember to bring those waterproofs ...
Remember those nice, romantic waterfalls coming down the rock face aside the road?
Well, if the conditions are right, you'll actually ride right through them...
Atlantic storm blowing in, beating you all over the place and sucking the falls right off the rocks onto the road... great experience though, and I was so happy with my GoreTex stitches ;)

We did a tour of Norway in 2008 using the ferry from England. Had planned to go this year. Route was planned to be England, Netherlands, Germany & Denmark. Touring as far north as Trondheim but cancelled due to the Covid

Yep, this year's Gathering would have been held in Sweden, hence my GF and I had planned touring Norway, then Sweden, etc... (the technical reason I got the NT700VA for her); almost everything was already bought and paid for... then somewhere someone decided to eat a bat...
I grow weary about booking train and ferry rides... in February the Swedish organizers cancelled...

I have booked the Newcastle / Amsterdam ferry for June 2021 in the hope of being able to ride from Portstewart N. Ireland up to Nordcapp. 22 days 5000 miles should be epic. Hope that you get to carry out your tour next year also.

Living in Norway, close to the artic circle, I will more than wellcome you all to visit our beautiful country when the pandemic is over. There are many motorcycle friendly roads to ride and I will highly recommend the west coast from Stavanger to Trondheim, the FV17 from Namsos to Bodø, Lofoten via Senja to Tromsø and of course from Tromsø to North Cape. Here are so many opportunities. If nothern Norway should be in your plans for motorcycling in Norway the best period would be from july to mid august due to weather/ temperature. Hope to see you.

The best bit is the Atlantic Road from Bergen to Trondheim with must does being the Trollstigen near Alesund and taking the service ferry to the end of Grienger Fjord and then the old road out of the fjord to the viewing point.
Watching them ski jumping in Lillehammer in mid summer was surreal.
And the old mining town of Roros was an interesting place.
PM me if you want hotel recommendations.

Word is the Portuguese might be holding a Gathering in 2021 and there is a fallback plan if that does not materialise.

How did this work out for you? Do you still use it?
Ha! That's a very good question...
Actually are (serious) riding and filming/photography creating a conflict...
On the 2022 trip I did bring the Sony cam along, fully prepped and paired with the remote app on the phone... and didn't use it a single second...
Same with the DSLR, took about a handful of pics with that... purely for it's zoom lens...
Frankly, I haven't even found the mojo to edit the footage from the 2018 trip yet...
