I know i'm a few days late posting this, i thought i did so here goes
i slept really hard last night and had a hard time getting up this morning. once out of bed i looked out the window, no rain just wet roads so i decided to go riding. i went out and made sure that the Mighty ST 1300 would start up, it did so i let it warm up for a few minutes before shutting it off. i went back in and got keys for the safari van so i could move it but it didn't start, i had been expecting this so rather than put it off i went back in and got keys for the club wagon so i could get the new battery for the safari out of it. after changing batteries the safari started right up and i moved it to the curb then went back in so i could get dressed for my ride

the weather guessers said it was 50f out but didn't say anything about the breeze coming out of the west. it was very cloudy and looked like it would rain at any minute, i was more worried about getting out of the hood without dropping the bike on all the wet leaves on the ground

i made my way north on schafer, east on joy road then south on livernois before taking michigan ave. east and spotting this new mural 20201126_091528.jpg

over in cork town i saw that they painted over a mural and replaced it with this one 20201126_092021.jpg20201126_092029.jpg20201126_092150.jpg20201126_092153.jpg

i made a right turn onto rosaparks blv. and took it down to the river, i usually can't get a pic of the river here cause a lot of guys fish from this spot 20201126_092729.jpg

it was a short ride over to belle isle and as soon as i got on the island i spotted this laker and realized that it wasn't moving 20201126_093900.jpg

i rode around and stopped for a few pic's while there 20201126_094607.jpg20201126_095656.jpg20201126_095841.jpg20201126_095937.jpg

i though i would ride over to william g. milliken park for a pic with the lighthouse. you have to take a walking path to get this pic but the LEO's usually don't bother you this time of year. going there also got me a better pic of that laker that i spotted on belle isle 20201126_101109.jpg20201126_101207.jpg

from there i headed downtown for a few pic's 20201126_101905.jpg20201126_101911.jpg20201126_102000.jpg20201126_102049.jpg20201126_102124.jpg20201126_102222.jpg

a few more downtown pic's before leaving 20201126_102550.jpg20201126_102824.jpg20201126_103134.jpg20201126_103143.jpg

i took jefferson west and made a short stop at the skate park 20201126_104223.jpg20201126_104238.jpg20201126_104256.jpg20201126_104411.jpg

i took fort street south and made a stop in SW Detroit for a few pic's 20201126_105752.jpg20201126_105814.jpg20201126_110153.jpg20201126_110157.jpg

usually on election day i go ride part of hines park but not this year. i took fort street to m-39 and exited at rotunda for a pic on the bridge that goes over the rouge river 20201126_112540.jpg

i made a u -turn a headed to outer drive and took it over to us-12, made a stop in inkster 20201126_114009.jpg

took a short ride over to garden city 20201126_114841.jpg20201126_114905.jpg

got out on hines drive and then took ann arbor trail into livonia. mi 20201126_120335.jpg20201126_120354.jpg20201126_120401.jpg

i set the GPS to take me to the post office in plymouth, mi. i saw this first in the town square 20201126_121451.jpg20201126_121458.jpg20201126_121518.jpg

i didn't see the post office but did end up looping20201126_121925.jpg20201126_121935.jpg20201126_121952.jpg around to the other side of the square

i got the address for the post office off the GPS and went back to find it
20201126_122424.jpg20201126_122430.jpg20201126_122446.jpg

happy with my pic's, low on fuel, and hungry i decided to head home. i got back on ann arbor trail and reversed course. i stopped and put $15 worth of premium in the tank and got a couple mega million lotto tickets. i got back on hines drive but only stopped for one pic 20201126_124606.jpg

i took hines dr. back to outer drive and had fun in the curves on the way over to m-14. not much in the way of fall colors so i took m-14 east to schafer, its about three miles to the house from there

One of the mural photos popped up on the home page today, leading me back to this thread. I dunno if I've said before, but I really enjoy your photo-logs and particularly the murals you capture. I don't spend much time in cities so I don't know this to be true but it seems as though Detroit has an unusually large number of murals, compared to other cities. Maybe I only think that because you make me aware of them.

Whatever the case, keep it up! Glad to see your foot has healed to the point where you can once again bestride the Mighty ST, but don't lose the Mighty Trail 70s either...

Speaking of murals- if anyone is ever on Vancouver Island it is worth a stop in the town of Chemainus if for nothing else but to see the murals. There are so many of them in one place and they are very impressive.

Wikipedia gives the wet weights as DL650 - 490#; DL1000 - 520#. That's a diff of only 30 lbs, and most would be in the motor, i.e. close to the CoG and not up high in the fuel tank.

sad to report that i'm still having problems with my foot, looking forward to getting my arch supports soon but i'll try and keep posting the murals i find in and around the city aswell as when i'm on the road once i get back to riding. i haven't posted any winter time Mighty CT70 adventures because after completing the thanksgiving ride i decided to put all bikes in hibernation to give my foot time to heal. my arch and the tendons are healing but it a slow process
