If you're coming to Victoria, be sure to take the Sooke highway to West Coast Road and stop in at the Point No Point resort. A nice ride and great place for lunch, not much of a view though....better on a sunny day. That's across the Juan de Fuca Straight to the Olympic Penisula/Mountains.
They built a University here near the Straight, going to call it Fuca U. but thought better of it.

... And if you've got some time, stay overnight at the Sooke Harbor Inn. No TV's, great food and wine, personal service. Nice!! When Maggie and I were up there a few years ago, we were tooling up the coast just north of Sooke and ran into 4 or 5 bears about 50 yards off the highway. Pretty cool!
