that's the fun part about riding northwestern California. 62°F at the coast, 100-105°F a half hour inland.

Dunno if you've ever heard about this, but when it gets hot soak your T-shirt in water, put it on under your jacket and leave the zipper cracked just a bit. Evaporative cooling works great in our hot/dry conditions. I also pour water into the helmet liner to soak it as well.

FWIW, yesterday I was riding in 105-112°F, so I had to use that technique myself.
Yes, ill be carrying at least a gal of water and some gatoraid. There is camping near humbolt, which is about 300 away. The first 100 is thru the hills and if they r like today, im gonna get another workout.

Hiway 20 has only a couple of sharp curves between grass valley and i80. The lower portion is all gentle curves and grades. I lived out there for 20 years and have ridden those roads many times.

80 isn't bad. 50 is similar with fewer places to stop, get gas or get help. And those trucks are heading the opposite way in the next lane.

I discovered two very important things today. The speeding limit on 80is 80. The second thing i discovered is that my air conditioning works just fine! I took a glance at my speedo and discovered i was at 115, which boils down to around 106. The bike felt like i was doing 60. Gotta watch that!
Found a marv camping spot and will b heading for the salt flats in the am. I regret the smoke because this would be the place to see the stars9C81BD36-967C-4706-8E9B-90EB04589629.jpegD16CE22F-9C6C-40EB-9A71-07BCCC00D273.jpegF6F3D795-FF1C-4831-B9C6-83CE8E9F94A3.jpeg

Rhy patch state recreation nevada. About 2 mi off int 80. Worth the ride.
Good! You are close enough to, that you won't consider the KOA in Elko for your next stop. They don't bury the water lines deep enough in the tent sites. DAMHIK.

Makes them glow. Like a black light.....
interesting, by "blue light" did he mean any white light with a blue filter in front of it, or is that a special type of light?

we get a scorpion or two in the house or garage every year, next time I see one I'd like to try it out, what do I need?
