Posting this here cause I'm not the seller and it's really just a curiousity rather than an offer for sale.

On e-bay right now is a 1994 ST1100 with only 334 miles!!!

How do you own a bike for over 15 YEARS and put 334 miles on it? For some of the folks on this site that's how many miles they ride before lunch!

The owner says he's selling it because he doesn't ride it very much - REALLY! But he starts it once a week and lets it idle for 15 minutes:eek:

I'd be afraid of so much stuff being dry rotted or full of varnished fuel.

Probably all easy fixes, even replacing some hoses and lines, and cleaning out the carbs.

This bike was for sale a few weeks ago, I believe it was on Craigslist. Original owner only 334 miles.

I would be very wary. Seals, hoses, electrics, fuel system, filters, hydraulics might all need replacement or repair.
Upside would be pristine tupperware and appearance.

Bikes should be ridden, especially tourers like ST's. Road scars are part of life, and should be displayed with pride.

It's bidding at $3000 right now with 9 bids in.

Owner says he fires it up every week, and has changed fluids recently and replaced the battery.

I'd DEFINITELY trailer that thing home if I were the buyer. 15 year old tires would probably disintegrate quickly at highway speeds!

Mileage like that isn't unheard of.

In 2004 I bought a '86 Honda Elite 80 with 97 original KILOMETERS on it .....
The guy bought it for his wife, rode it a few times and hated it ....then he put it in his garage an forgot about it .....

Take a look at this picture ...... I sure wish I could photoshop in my St1300

If I wanted one I would buy this one in a heart beat. You could look at and see it hasn't been used. Its a nearly new 1994.

I think this is a guy who always wanted a bike, maybe was terrified by it when he actually rode the thing, yet couldn't part with it because doing so would be an end to a dream. So it was just easier to let it sit year after year vs making a decision to sell it.

Similar maybe to that exercise machine I have in the basement, I'll get on it someday...........
