I just got a replacement 06 ST that has Michlen Pilot Road tires. They have very little milage on them. I have a 8,500 mile trip coming up. How many miles should I expect from these tires? They are not PR2.

I got 12K on a rear PR2 and >14K on the front.
He has the PR's not PR 2's

I ran a set just over 8k back in 2008/2009. My mileage on PR 2's has varied greatly. I would like to say my riding style has not changed much since installing the 2's. Have gotten as high as 12k and as few as 8.5k. I mention this as I think road surface texture has more of an effect on wear than one would imagine. I am on my 3rd set of the 2's and this set is going to be in the 8k range.

Many get more from their tires and many get less than others. Riding style and road texture determine your results.

You could put new rubber on and still have to replace on the road. Your PR may go the distance, only riding it will tell. Look at the tire change member map and have a plan in place just in case you may need them. Keep in mind that Keel Brothers can ship anywhere and most of us would be happy to change your tires to keep you going.

Never used the Pilot Roads but usually not more than 8,000 miles from any brands of tire, Dunlop, Avon, Continental, or Michelin.

I would worry more about the age of the tires. When I ran the Pilot Roads, I got about 10 to 11K, about what I get out of a set of PR2s.
