Update: We passed the 200k mile mark!!! So far no flaming crashes. Keep up the riding! :ds1:

Remember, this is TOTAL miles we are recording- so if you have replaced a darkside tire with another darkside tire, please report the total of the two.
If you have a mileage to report, or update a mileage I have listed below, please post at the end of this thread, or send me a PM. Thanks!

I'm starting this thread to keep track of the total number of miles that darkside tires have been tested on the ST. I'd like to ask that actual darkside discussions, both pro and con, be kept to a minimum on this thread- there are other threads going for that. I'd just like to see how many total miles STs have run on the Darkside.

If you prefer to remain anonymous, please PM me and I'll add your number to the total, and will post the mileage and only put down "anonymous". I'll keep a running tab of the user and their miles, and the total in this first post. Over time if your mileage goes up and you wish for me to update it, post or PM me.

5 miles, post install test ride. I LUV it!!!!

This is a Chinese manufacture Austone taxi tar, 175/80R/16. 4 tread plies, 2 sidewall plies, radial, tubeless. A little expensive ($174 delivered) but speced for London taxis at 100,000 miles. I'll let ya know. :D

40 lbs. initial pressure, seems just about right. Handles corners just like... well... a tar. :D

Did a little "off road", just up behind the house about a mile on a ruff cut thru the new development. I could "feel" the tar but not a stopper. At only 175 wide, and 80% tall, it's much less a difference than the 205/50/17 the 1300s and FJRs are running.

Just installed my CT Wednesday! As of this evening i now have about 180 miles on my Hankook 205/50/17 K110. I also rode through about ten miles of rain this morning on the way to work. It felt rock solid in the rain and there was a huge spray cloud coming off the tire.

UPDATE: up to 500 miles-doing great!

Thanks for the new figures. For those I already have listed, please remember to update as you add a significant number of miles. And I know there are more Darksiders on here, so please chime in with your mileage to date.

Now have 4,000 plus or minus ... which includes a hundred miles or so in very heavy rain. It worked very well. Going to do some gravel mountain roads this week.

I'm now about 500 miles, with twisties and rain and interstate alll in the mix. working well.

A big plus with my tall Austone, makes it easy to get on the center stand even with a full load. :D

Just finished another looop of Ride Around America, bringing Hankook miles up to just under 6,000 total. So far have NO notice of any problem, unusual wear pattern. If anything, I'm even happier with the tire than I expected. Pressure around 34 pounds cold is very comfortable and there is no tire noise that I can discern - by this time most of the MT I've tried would be showing significant wear and giving some tread noise at speed.

I'm up to 2,000 miles on my Hankook! No road noise and it feels very steady in the rain. I was riding with 5 others this last Saturday and I was out front running the corners with no problems! I'm running 40psi in mine.

I'll have 7000 miles when I arrive at WiSTOC on Friday. Had a few issues during the swing down south, all due to the trailer tho. Had to unmount the ammo tube and lash it to the top of the trailer... made it too top heavy. Had some real handling problem in the low 'n slow, including a tip over in a McD's in Memphis. No harm, no foul.

That tube is gonna stay at STrayCatt's Mansion. Went for a spin today without it and all is good. Currently running 44 psi. Looks new. Front Exedra looks good too.

George, when I win the lottery (or discover a rich relative I can kill), I'm going to fund a trip for us. I can only dream of doing the riding you do!!!

Jim, I spent many years at 10,000 or less. Only been since retiring I've had the opportunity to do the real long miles. Guys who do it while still working and raising families are my heroes. Landon. :D
