    Homemade Dyna-Beads????

I’m seriously considering a homemade alternative to Dyna-Beads or their competitor: Centramtics. Both of these appear to be very small beads which will respond to un-balanced areas of a tire like anti-bodies over the lithe body of Rachel Welch. (“Incredible Journey” anyone?)

So…my question. (There IS a question in here.) If the little beads work—and I believe the do—why buy theirs? Why not make my own?

Why can’t BB’s work? Why can’t buckshot work? How about dried peas?

Does it have to be “their” little beads? At $13 bucks a bag? Highway robbery, I tell you! This nefarious deed shall not stand the light of day! Bloody capitalist pigs!

Seriously, what’s wrong with BB’s or something like that?

    (I humbly await your floggings.)

Pick the wrong material and the beads will either do nothing or tear apart your tire/wheel from the inside out.

I guess they have already done a significant amount of testing and research to find the right material and the right amount.....

Ceramic Dyna Beads must not absorb water, or abrade the inside of the tyre...... and yes, I believe they work as I am evaluating them in both tyres now.

No, I'm not kidding. I'll stay up all night thinking of ways to save a buck. Blame it on my Scottish heritage.

Hey, don't you blame us Scots for being tight (mean)..... my staff get far more tips from Scots than any other nationality other than 'Merrycans..... it's the folk from the North East of England and Y***shire that are tighter than a duck's butt under water..... we barely see a tip from them.

We had a really busy day yesterday, absolutely everyone happy with their food and the service... the only tables that tipped was three 'Merrycan folk and some from Devon, all the rest were from south of the border as mentioned above, not one penny by way of gratuity...

    Buy the beads.

If it's the expense that's important.

Make a tire balancer and some inexpensive wheel weights and balance your own tires.

I'm not a fan of dynabeads. Some like them but for me too much $$ and I don't feel they do any better job than normal wheel weights.

I buy my Dyna Beads in bulk from a motorcycle shop at $18 for a 10 oz bag (will do 5 tires). I reclaim the beads when removing a tire, and get back about 95% of the beads to reuse with the new tire.
