I've found they do make a bit of noise in a curve when low on air. Otherwise, they are as quiet as anything else.

In Phoenix Arizona we have rubberized asphalt, I recently got 20,000 miles on a rear PR2 that was not yet down to the wear bars, and got 32,000 miles on the front pr2. I just put on a new front PR3 and am very excited to see how it holds up, despite some early negative reports. I have noticed a significant mileage difference when I keep the air pressure at 42 psi. I could not be happier with a tire. In Los Angeles, on a different bike and tires, I could only expect 5000 miles. The traction dry and wet with the PR2's always blew my mind, and I expect the same or better from the PR3s.

I can't hear it over my MP3. :D The other day I was riding with my wife as pillion so I didn't have the tunes on, and when we were quiet I could hear a bit of noise from the front PR2 when cornering. Not real noisy, just a little tread noise.

Not to hijack the thread, but for those of you with lots of expirience with the PR2s. How quiet are they? I have about 3000 miles on mine, and I while they are very quiet in the verticle, if I lean to either side any amount and I get a whine/humm. Is this normal? I've noticed it on very smooth quiet roads. The only time I hear the noise is when I lean the bike.
The whine or moan off upright is normal - it may even get worse if you hear it by 3000 miles.

All Michelin motorcycle tires that I have seen have a small barcode sticker on the bead , match this to the valvestem it is the lite spot. Once the tire is beaded up you cannot see this mark......you're welcome

any mileage reports from riding on 'tar and chip' roads?

my local DOT lays down hot tar, then crushed gravel. sometimes directly on top of fresh asphalt. ??????. they say it extends the road life.

any mileage reports from riding on these roads? have any of you experienced these roads thru the life of ur tyres?

anybody?

I have ridden on those PA roads that you are talking about I toasted a rear on them it should have had 2k left when I started the trip but by the time I was heading home the tire was toast. Those roads are rough on tires.

+1 on that.
Those oil spraying in use signs were never a good thing.
They were brutal thru 2" of gravel with a 23mm bicycle tire as well LOL.

Just replaced my rear PR2 with a PR3, had a total of 16,600 miles. No cords showing, but center was very easy to push in when off, the rim.

On at 42,300
Off at 58,900

Total= 16,600
