Without seeing other replies...IS HONDA CRAZY ????? A $4,000 jump in price from last year !
Dunno where you got that. The MSRP for a 2010 ABS was $17,600 and for 2012 it's $18,230. That's a difference of... (takes off shoes, counts on toes) $630 or about 3.5%. Interestingly, inflation in the U.S. has been near that figure for the last six months.

Price increases on STs have had less to do with Honda smoking crack and more to do with the fact that the dollar has lost ground against the yen. The dollar was buying 12% more yen a year ago, so this year's 3.5% price increase doesn't even make up for that. Go back to 2007 and you'll see an even more dramatic difference. MRSP on an ABS back then was $15,499 and the exchange rate was about ?120 per USD, which puts the 2007 west-end-of-the-Pacific price at ?1,859,880. If the yen holds its current rate of ?77 into next year, MRSP will be ?1,403,710. Honda will be selling 2012 STs for about 25% less than they were five years ago and is is eating profit on these bikes to keep a lid on U.S. MSRP.

Dealer invoice price was $14,300 for the '10 on the dealer floor when I bought my '07 in March.$14,900 was msrp.
The $14,900 figure has to be their selling price. Dealer invoice on STs has typically been about $2,000 below MSRP, which would put it at $15,600. Chop out $880 in holdback from Honda and "actual" is about $14,720. For all I know Honda is giving incentives to unload old inventory. If it was March, they'd have been eager to deal because holdback checks are cut in April.

I've asked this in several threads and nobody's ever answered: Why?

I've never liked it when my chosen bike goes out of production. I'ts just sad to me, I don't know. With one bike (V65 Sabre) it only took 2 years.

I must say I'm glad I got my leftover 2006 for $10K. I wouldn't have bought it if over $15k.
