Right, George ... and they obviously ignore the fact there are no recharge stations in the woods. Only application I can see would be LEO's in town where 'stealth' movement might be an advantage.

Didn't look at any details but I'm assuming it's LiIon powered so it's performance range trade off is going to be very limited. Down the road maybe nanowire lithium ion or flourine ion might make electric vehicles viable for wider use. With the torque of the electric motor (if it's sized right) I bet it's pretty fun to ride though while it's charged.

Agree on both points, Carl. Fluorine/Ion sounds good if the can control the potential corrosion aspects.

Electric bikes at altitude have already proven their fun-factor on Pikes Peak: No Power Loss! (...long as the battery still has juice. :D)

I'm guessing it would be used as a motocross bike on a track where it could easily be pushed off to the side and recharged if it died. Most likely it would be just a battery swap. I could see that working just fine.

So now I'll have to take the bike, the generator AND the generator's gas can when I want to dirt ride. Will be a HOOT riding 10-15 minutes and waiting 2 hrs to charge.... Maybe they will develop quick-change batteries like on cordless drills!

When's someone gonna invent an electric powered generator... ;)

$$ish 10hp not really much fun factor the 30hp though could be a little interesting.
If a better battery technolocy comes along I wonder if this could help regain some dwindling riding locations?
Where I grew up the a lot of riding opportunities were shut down with noise complaints being a big factor as housing developments encroached.
