My Pilot active ended at just over 16K much the same as stgolfer. Sad. PLENTY of tread left in the middle but the side were so far gone I developed handlebar shake. My first BT-45 lasted 14K and we changed it at NatSToc for the Pilot activ at a local dealer. Much better wear but it started to cup and when it started it got BAD FAST. But I think that was a tire pressure issue. I'm on my 3rd front now and went back to the BT-45. Still on my first GYTT with maybe half the tread gone. Never going back.... :)

I replaced my BT-45 last night after 29600 miles on it. That's a record for me. I think the longest lasting tire I had prior to that was about 11,500 miles. I did flip it after 11,000 miles because it was getting lumpy on the left side. It still has tread on it but was too lumpy and pretty much lost its shape.
Wow! I love how a bike feels with new tires.

Turn it around and run it more the other way. I got 33,000 (some shaky) out of the last Michelen. I took it off and put the one previous to that back on turned around to wear it some more! It's over 20,000 now and riding good. Haven't wore one out but the shake gets bad. I wish I could set up a grinder and grind the high spots off, I might break 50,000 with one. Yippee!

YMMV not for meek or worrysome folks. Attempt at your own risk!! Not endorsed by ST-Owners.com or your lawyers.

Oh I've had PLENTY of tread left on all 3... they just cup something awful! A slight tire pressure change and a little calmer riding style for 1K miles seems to have that grinder effect though. Maybe flipping them over I could have lasted longer.
