I got the replacement crash bar, looks good, but I warn you all, the cop crash bars are NOT like the stock ones. I'll have to post pictures of the differences.

How fun Bob. Great project even if some of the sellers are gooberheads.

Any chance of a Theme Bike ?

I'm thinking John Deere green and yellow.

Let me know if you need any more of my ideas. Have fun.

Ah, yeah Mark, that sounds like a winner! ...nah, think I'll pass for now on that one! ;)

As soon as I'm ready, you'll be the first to ask on ideas! :)

You need to have a Star Trek themed bike. It'll make your commute easier once you mount the farkles Phasers and Photon Torpedoes. ;-)

I think a A-10 themed bike for commuting would be better...at least with a Gatling gun, you can see the thing in front of you coming apart, instead of just disappearing. But since this isn't for commuting, I think I'll just stick with the original Honda theme...;)

Not a whole lot has happened this month after replacing the mufflers with the ones off ebay. They sure look nice! :D

I just ordered a bunch of parts for the front end (Upper cowl, mirror covers for both sides, left mirror to replace the left side, instrument panel, etc), then I discovered (looking harder does help! :doh1:) the cowl stay is bent worse than I thought. so, I had to order a new one. So far I have put maybe $2,100 above the $3,400 I paid for it. But, I have sold about $900 worth of parts, so I figure that helps off balance my costs.

Once I get all of that replaced, All I need to do is get some painting done! :woo

Rim came back today. It looks really good!

View attachment 117462View attachment 117461

It cost me $187 plus my shipping to them ($46)

Also got a bunch of parts for the frontend. Still waiting on the cowl stay and the left mirror cover.

And, as soon as I can get the mid cowls, left side cover and the left saddlebag all painted. Phase I will be done. It will be a basic STOCk ST1300! :woo

Then I can start FARKLEing!:hat3:

Yesterday, the Front Cowl stay came in from Honda. two of the brackets were bent. I had to fix both before I could mount anything to it. But I got the cowl stay replaced, the upper cowl, the under the windshield cowl, the instrument panel and used some instrument cases that I had from the '05 and mirror!

Putting those little slip clips on the under the windshield cowl was a pain. First, I had to take them off the old one, lost two in the process, not sure where in the garage they popped off to! But I had bought 10, just in case! :D

Getting closer. Now I'm waiting to see what happens on ebay on Tuesday, If I get that left mid cowl, I'll just have to wait of the left mirror cover and I'll have it complete. I still need to change oil and coolant, along with bleeding brakes and clutch.

I have Byron coming on the 26th to put a tire to the rear rim, and give his extra rim back to him.

More pictures on my site.

Just get it ride-able and start commuting on it. You don't want to put any more wear and tear on the 05.
HA HA ...You don't have anything to worry about Karen, depending how long it takes George to get that rearend to you....Looks like he's sending it off today!

You still have some mileage on me and since I'm trailering my bike up to my ride next week (since the wife won't ride that far) I won't be putting all that many miles on next week. In fact, I'll loose some.

I've got Thursday and Friday off, so that's 260, and on Saturday the 19th, I'll be lucky to get in 150 miles.

So as long asd you get your bike back on the road this week and make that Canadian run you were talking about, you'll beat me to 150K! :D

Spent the day changing the oil and coolant, along with trying to clean up the new left fairing piece I got off ebay. I used some headlight lens polish and it did real good on 90% of the cardboard marring it got in transit. So I got that, the right side along with the mirrors on. It is starting to look like a ST1300 again.

Byron will be by on Saturday and we'll mount a used tire I have on the rear rim and I'll finish up putting everything else on and I just might ride it to Dan's CreSTOC in less than two weeks! :woo

I'll add some more pictures later.

I wasn't able to ride the '04 to CreSTOC for two reasons. The first was that I talked my wife into riding up there with me. The other was I didn't get the throttle lock mounted.

So I got the latter taken care of on Saturday (6/2/2012) and then I had full coverage added to it starting today, it is ready to go!

So I rode it into work today. It did great! Still need to do some paint and FARKLEing, but as for running, the bike runs fanstatic! :D

Now for a Topcase, FuseBlock (BlueSea) and wiring, headlight modulator, Stebel Horn, driving lights, air deflectors, etc...

I decided to call Dual Sports and see what it would take to get a '04 Topcase and after the guy told me that they were discontinued, said to wait a second and when he came back to the phone, said that he found one in the back. So for $479 plus shipping, I think I just bought my birthday present for next month. Now I just need to let the wife know....:eek:4:

The topcase should be here on Tuesday, so I will have a nice little project for the Fourth Of July! :)
