Do the pics have to be from byways listed on that web site? Ohio has their own "Scenic Byways" site too... as I'm sure other states do too.

Nah, I say go for it, it's just for showing great pics of great places so we don't have to be all that stringent.

LOL... When I came up with this I thought 'I gotta have a million of those pics'.. well, nope... I have some of byway signs as I'm riding by but none of the bike next to one.. had to go back to 2000...Jeez,,,, all the people on here and only Joe and I have ridden these great roads and taken a photo of our bikes???

It may get some momentum, ya just never know how these things will go, but thanks for tossing yours in there, I'll try to get some more pics in the future if I ever ride again.. LOL

I was serious about the scenic byway pics. I've ridden some of the Rustic Roads in Wisconsin but don't generally stop for a pic. I could do my own "scenic byways" but that don't jive with the theme.

This could be fun.
I have to laugh at some people's idea of a "Scenic Byway." The Merritt Parkway in Connecticut? OK, perhaps it's scenic compared to I-95, but it's no byway, it's typically a parking lot.
This scenic stretch is still my favorite...that's our own KempoSTer about the cross the East Haddam Swing Bridge by the Goodspeed Opera House. The bridge itself qualifies as a scenic road, although the roads leading to it do not. That accounts for the short distance.

I like it, but, well,...? What's up with the FHA site? Not a mention of Texas. Not even in the RT66 Byway. What about the El Camino Road, it still exists in Texas, look up OSR (Old Spanish Road) on the maps? Chisholm Trail? Just saying.
A roughly 40 mi stretch of Hwy that takes you from low deserts 1200' to high desert of 4,600' and temps drop 10 to 15 degrees. A short 30 minute ride from home makes this the quickest escape from some desert heat, 108 today and 93 for the lowest on today's run. The route takes you through some historic, current and future mining areas. The small town of Superior is in the route and Globe-Miami on the East end. Today's target was the Globe DQ for cool stuff and turn around.
